The media is hyping this story as - because of Trump businesses are closing and people are losing their jobs.

Bull Crap. Barf Alert!

I have two Stack-On boxes, which are no more secure than a cardboard box and both have stickers on them with "Made in Chine". All that company is doing is moving the last of their business from here to Mexico. I believe that the company moving plans started before Trump got in office just to completely operate out of the U.S.

"Fletcher says the company has a plant in China and another in Mexico, and its only U.S. factories were the two in Illinois."

Punish those businesses who move to Mexico and China.

You also forgot to mention that the state of Illinois is hostile to businesses.

LOL! Now try to get their “finished product” imported into the US. I hope they have a big market for their boxes in Mexico.

Aren’t they supposed to be slapped tariffs on when importing their goods back to USA?

The operative word is Illinois.

The tariff blather is a figleaf to cover the fact that operating in the state of illinois is no longer possible. the democrat state is toxic to business and literally kills the business by over regulating and onerous taxation.

They’re moving to escape Illinois taxes, but blaming Trump apparently earns them more brownie points with some Lib customer.

Too bad about the jobs but Stack-On safes are junk. I have one of the smaller boxes with an electronic lock. The battery ran down and I couldn’t get into it. A YouTube video shows how you can put a paper clip into the hidden lock and twist it until it opens. Took me about 10 seconds.

The good news is that those 150 workers will have no problem finding jobs in this booming manufacturing climate, thanks to President Trump’s concern for American workers.

There are casualties in war, and trade wars are no different. In any trade war there will be winners and losers. The expectation is that when the dust settles there will be more winners than losers. But if the media, or anyone, thought that it would be nothing but winning then they’re deluding themselves.

The owner is either a deranged Trump hater or is being paid off to do this.

So if they have a quality product made in the US, and have to raise their prices ccordingly, people would till buy their product. I know I-would... By relocating the remainder of their business south of the border, won’t a tariff be imposed on their product? So what’s the point of this or the story itself?

FAKE NEWS!

Human resources director Al Fletcher said Tuesday the decision to relocate operations to Juarez, Mexico, was made about two months ago. That’s when Trump announced tariffs on numerous goods and materials from China as well as other countries.

Human resources director Al Fletcher said Tuesday the decision to relocate operations to Juarez, Mexico, was made about two months ago.

That sentence is "reporting" what HR guy said.

That’s when Trump announced tariffs on numerous goods and materials from China as well as other countries.

THAT sentence is NOT reporting what HR guy said, but a connection made by AP!

Neither sentence in and of itself is a lie, but the manner they are presented equals FAKE NEWS!

The laid off workers will get new jobs quickly, by the time this guy moves Trump will have won and tariffs on his goods will make him move back. Take that to the bank.

Nice of the paper to assume that's why they are moving. Pukes.

no problem. let them hire legal workers there instead of illegal ones here. let all who crave cheap labor go to where the cheap labor is and deal with them in their own countries.

Everything I’ve seen that’s made by Stack-on is crap. There’s many other products out there that are superior, and made here.

Stack-On gun safes are for keeping small children away from guns. Burglars and teenagers can defeat them in very short amount of time.

I’m a bit perplexed.

Are they moving because they refuse to buy American Made Steel to manufacture their Product?

What is the price difference, even including the Tariff, between Chinese Steel and American Steel? What would the raw material cost be to make a Cabinet, ten bucks at most?

It’s not like Stack On makes 500 pound Gun Safes. They are simply a light duty Metal Box that don’t weigh all that much to begin with. Can you say “convenient excuse”?
