301 ‘Predator Priests’ Named In Pa. Grand Jury Sex Abuse Report: ‘They Were Raping...’
WKDK-TV Pittsburgh ^ | 08/14/18 | Andy Sheehan

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The long-awaited state grand jury report into sexual abuse in six Pennsylvania dioceses, including Pittsburgh and Greensburg, has finally been released.

The 884-page document, two years in the making, shines a light into the dark corners of these dioceses going back seven decades, exposing the predators and the efforts of their bishops to protect them.

“Today, the most comprehensive report on child sexual abuse within the church ever produced in our country was released,” Attorney General Josh Shapiro said. “Pennsylvanians can finally learn the extent of sexual abuse in these dioceses. For the first time, we can all begin to understand the systematic cover up by church leaders that followed. The abuse scarred every diocese. The cover up was sophisticated. The church protected the institution at all costs.”

The report begins with the following statement:

“We, the members of this grand jury, need you to hear this. We know some of you have head some of it before. There have been other reports about child sex abuse within the Catholic Church. But never on this scale. For many of us, those earlier stories happened someplace else, someplace away. Now we know the truth: it happened everywhere.”

The report cites 301 priests, clergy and lay teachers with credible allegations against them. There are 99 in the Diocese of Pittsburgh alone.

Of those 99, a group of four groomed and violently sexually assaulted young boys, said Shapiro.

“One boy was forced to stand on a bed in a rectory, strip naked and pose as Christ on the cross for the priests. They took photos of their victim, adding them to a collection of child pornography which they produced and shared on church grounds,” Shapiro said.

Shapiro said the priests would mark their victims by giving them gifts.

The perverted scoutmasters, teachers, ministers, politicians, coaches, and movie producers should be hanging right next to them.

The human traffickers and their patrons, too.

This is so disgusting. I don’t know how anyone can step foot into a Catholic Church. The abuse was horrific enough, and the church covered it up and transferred the rapists and they still do it today. Walk Away from the church of evil, people. You can find God, Jesus, Salvation and Grace in another place.

I'll give you this; everyone starts asking questions when a guy who likes kids gets to be 40+ without getting married.

I was one of those.

I just hadn't met Miss Right, yet.

Well, I had...several times...but in none of those cases was I Mr. Right.

But, I finally found her, and she found me, and we are we, and no one asks why we like kids.

The other way to stop such questions?

Get into a profession where bachelorhood is a professional requirement.

For good or bad reasons.

No, the problem is that they’re not chaste. On the other hand, being married is not necessarily a help if a man is a homosexual or a child molester. I saw that in the Orthodox Church, where most of the priests are married (they have to marry before ordination), but a shocking number of them were gay and there were also child abuse problems, all covered up.

Protestant churches also have this problem, even though their clergy is married, but the target of the press has traditionally been the Catholic Church, so that’s why you don’t read so much about it. But if you look at the statistics, you’ll see.

The big problem - well, actually, there are two big problems - is clericalism on the one hand, and the invasion of all the Christian churches by Freudianism, which made “sexual expression” the be-all and end-all of everything, and told decent Christians that they were being “repressed” unless they did this. All the churches adopted this as their de-facto model after the collapse of the Catholic Church at VII.

Have you ever seen my 99 scoutmasters raping boys in one city?

Do you think there are 300 perv scoutmasters in a single state? If so, please show me.

You defense of these pervs is misplaced. Defend the faith. Not these animals.

And trust me, if there is a perv scoutmaster the cops would be involved and the entire organization would be tossing him under the bus. Not so much with priests.

You are not going open any eyes or change minds this time. YOU should be going to your cardinal and demanding action.

You wouldn’t have to close the church.....just rid the church of the problem.

If they get rid of the problem, they're going to have to close churches.

There won't be enough priests left to go around.

My sister has a gay friend who quit Catholic seminary cause the homosexual problem was too much for him.

No, the problem in the whole mess isn’t that homos managed to infiltrate and abuse minors. Catholics keep making it about the abuse and comparing themselves to others to prove they are not so bad.

It does happen everywhere and people need to be vigilant for it.

But the problem in Catholicism is not so much that the abuse happened, but how it was handled. And we keep reiterating that point and Catholics as a whole keep ignoring it and finger pointing at others to prove they are not so bad.

In my experience in the 40+ years as an Evangelical, any time there’s an issue of morality, it’s been dealt with. I don’t see the large scale cover up in any other denomination like has happened in Catholicism.

What’s going on in Catholicism with the cover up involved rivals the cover up involving the Clinton’s and Podesta.

THAT’S the bigger issue. The abuse is bad enough.

The way it was handled was reprehensible.

You defense of these pervs is misplaced.

Get your head out of your butt.

I defended NO pervs. Ever.

I insist that they all get equal treatment.

And trust me, if there is a perv scoutmaster the cops would be involved and the entire organization would be tossing him under the bus.

False. Utterly and appallingly false. Fag scouts are now celebrating faggotry. Don't try to defend those perverts.

Spot on. If these were Protestant ministers, they’d have been booted out by their congregations and turned over to Law Enforcement. The RCC just shifts them from parish to parish.

for a group that claims to be the way to heaven and have the power to send people to heaven or hell, it’s a horrendous abuse of power and misrepresenting the name of Christ to their victims in a way that is totally satanic.

***

To be totally fair, the simple fact that there’s pedo priests isn’t a slam against the org as a whole.

It’s the fact that the leadership covered it up, continues to cover it up, and didn’t do anything about it until forced to by popular opinion.

It’s almost like the leadership cares about power more than it cares about the souls they claim dominion over.

Unfortunately, that’s not new in Roman history!

Normal men date and marry adult women and have kids.

Homosexuals, pedophiles, pederasts and other deviants gravitate to a life and career that covers up their lack of normal relations with women, and gives them access to victims.

And back where it counts, in the USA, the only “fight” that the RC church ever puts up (besides for open borders) is to shield its serial child rape from public knowledge and rightful justice.

What do you call an organization, a world government really, which protects & promotes perversion & corruption?

Kleptocracy doesn’t seem to fit. How about pervo-kleptocracy.

Given the depth & breadth of this, I no longer consider the Catholic church to be a Christian church, nor do I consider a Catholic priest to be someone who deserves my respect. If these perverts & their enablers end up in Heaven, then I prefer Hell.

301 in ONE STATE?

It’s getting to the point where South Park’s portrayal of Catholicism isn’t going to be satire any more! JEEZ!

One should not take vows of celibacy unless he has the gift of celibacy. In that case, no vow needed. Roman Catholic insistence on celibate priests has undoubtedly contributed to the sexual deviance they bury at will.

Boy, you better believe it.

I know very little about law, but somebody here could probably explain it to me:

A Grand Jury investigates to see whether there's probable cause for criminal charges to be brought, right?

This mammoth report goes back 70 years and most of the accused are dead. In many cases the victims are dead. And certainly physical evidence or witnesses are long gone.

So am I right in assuming that the only thing they can do with all of this, is to bring a RICO or some other kind of criminal conspiracy charge?

Because most of it could not lead to any other kind of indictment, could it?
