People using straws in California get harsher penalties.

This was the very definition of “hate crime” and borderline attempted murder. Do you think if he had attacked a black man, women or gay person that he wouldn’t have had the book thrown at him regardless?

This was a political “make it go away” and “fu” statement. The State of California has shown who and what they support and it’s not peaceful dialogue.

Rumor has it is that he’s snitching on fellow Anifa. If true....he’s going to be looking over his shoulder for a while.

He could become a leftist martyr, like Horst Ludwig Georg Erich Wessel.

Seems federal prosecutors should pick this up and charge him for the other assaults. He should be in jail. No stone should be left unturned until he is convicted and sitting in a jail cell.

This is the guy who bashed people in the head with a bike lock while wearing a mask.

It should be open season on anyone committing a violent crime while wearing a mask. No daily or possession limit.

You got to be kidding! No jail time? There is no justice in California. It would be interesting to know who his legal team was and if they are connected to major Democrats such as Perkins Coie law firm of (Hillary Clinton Steele Dossier fame).

Disgusting.

Some here seem to think this means the fix is in. Seems like a win if you read past the headline. If a prosecutor can get a plea deal, in this case a guilty plea to a lesser charge, much time/money is saved for other prosecutions. The guy got three years probation. He will probably have mandatory and expensive anger management classes and community service, as well as being closely monitored by a probation officer, who with any misstep, could put him right back in front of a judge. This may not seem harsh enough for some, but it is how the system works, and at least it worked.

One might get more for a DUI and failure to appear.

“The only good news here, is that he probably had to pay a lawyer $10,000+ to defend him and negotiate with the prosecutors.” The good news is that his address and employer are now matters of public record.

Doesn't pleading guilty set up a civil suit against the bastard? Whoever was the victim of the assault should sue him into poverty.

C’mon. Did you really expect this guy to get convicted and hauled off to prison? This is Kalifornia. The same state that acquitted the illegal alien murderer of Kate Steinle and released him with time served.

Yup, plea deals are the norm. He's tagged anyway.

Being stuck in the legal system with probation is no joke.
