The hacking collective Anonymous is pledging to expose the people behind the "QAnon" conspiracy theory.
The anarchist hacking group slammed the QAnon conspiracy as potentially dangerous and driven by a “brainless political agenda” in a video posted Sunday to what is widely considered the most reliable Anonymous Twitter account.
“We will not see idly by while you take advantage of the misinformed and poorly educated,” the group said in the video, which was posted with the hashtags "#OpQ" and "#OpQAnon."
The video depicts various figures with the Anonymous masks acting out certain aspects of the QAnon conspiracy over a constant backdrop of the letter “Q.”
The video claims that Anonymous “knew who was responsible for Q,” and thought it was funny at first. However, the group now believes the conspiracy theory has gone too far.
“Someone is gonna get hurt so we have to put our foot down and start some s--- with you all,” the group said in the video.
QAnon shifted into the spotlight after numerous attendees at President Trump's rally in Florida last week held Q-shaped cutouts and posters alluding to the conspiracy theory.
The wide-ranging and vague “QAnon” touches on a number of popular unproven conspiracy theories: Democrats and prominent Hollywood figures are orchestrating underground pedophile rings; special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe is a front for investigating Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for their ties to said rings; and hundreds of sealed indictments may have already been handed down in the Clinton case.
The theory was started by a person on 4chan last year claiming to be a high-ranking security official in the Trump administration. The individual or individuals goes by the identity of "Q," and has continued to fan the theory on online platforms.
A number of conservative figures have pushed back against the conspiracy theory on Twitter in recent days, including Michael Flynn Jr. and Sean Spicer.
Anonymous has been adamantly opposed to Trump since he announced his candidacy in 2015. The group declared "cyber war" on Trump in March 2016, directing its followers to take down the then-candidate's websites.
Not if you count results. Anonymous has them. Q has none.
I trust neither of them.
If he did, the Q-ers would say it was just part of The Plan.

I don't know if Q is real either, and if he is his scribblings are like horoscopes written by Nostradamus, combining obscurity with vagueness that you can read anything into after the fact. So really, not especially useful.
But if the hackers decided to take it all down, it will be interesting to see if the 4chan asperger's crowd decides to jump into the fray. A good old fashioned worldwide cyber war between private parties would be something to see.

Q must have many on the left unnerved if they taking such a combined tact against them. I’m left with the question, are the leftists and their ilk trying to convince conservatives that Q is fake...or themselves? If q is real but not traceable then their whole world is about to be shattered by an intelligence source that they can’t control, co-opt or even assassinate.
I suspect a white hat(good guys) vs black hat (roguish intelligence sources) operation is going on competing for hearts and minds on an organic one person at a time mission. The hope is to build a ground level up anti socialist mindset.
The fact that the menstrual stream media is now sensitized to Q(fake or real) tells me that they believe there is something to it. Even fake, the support for Trump being engendered by Q is affecting polls and popularity rates for Trump and the left is fit to be tied as it appears Q is living inside of somebody’s head on the left.
So I say this to anonymous...”I too, AM Q”!(yeah so I’m borrowing from Spartacus).

I’ve learned to be skeptical of events or circumstances I want to be true. Years of reading mysteries ;) has shown me to be ever doubtful of The One True Answer. Once deception enters the game any number of excuses for actions can and will be made. It is dangerous to follow anything without question.
Anonymous is Deep state. It has been obvious for a long time. They never end up being right about anything either.
POTUS could also say Q is horsesh*t, but he doesn’t.
POTUS won’t reveal Q because Q is too good a vehicle for him to get out national security ‘questions’.
I never want to see Q revealed. But I love to see Q kick asses where they need to be kicked.
They’ve bought into it...thinking they’re on some team. Part of some heroic process. They would have to admit to themselves they’ve been conned and they’ve been suckered by buying into the nonsense. But trust Sessions anyway...LOL!!

Seriously, if he doesn’t know who Q is, I would think he wouldn’t want his name associated with it in any way shape or form. He comes across as a man who really protects his brand.
Concur. Q often reads like a combination of third-rate Orwell and expanded musings from Chance, the gardener in “Being There.” But there are plenty of willing dupes, anxious to believe there is a larger “master plan” in the works, no matter how dubious the underlying explanation might be.
I don’t see any usefulness in the president mentioning this at all.
On the other hand, if Q is really ‘in touch’ and doing the President’s wishes, why doesn’t Trump publically support the movement?
(Waving at a crowd of thousands of people, a very few of whom are ostensibly Q-ers, is not ‘support’.)
