Former Sen. Al Franken (D., Minn.) said he hadn't ruled out the possibility of running for public office again during an interview with a CBS Minnesota television station on Monday.
Franken attended the dedication of Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig High School on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation. He sat on the Indian Affairs Committee in the U.S. Senate and helped secure $12 million in funding for new facilities to replace the old one, which was in dismal condition.
"That means a lot to me. It was very moving for me. It was very gratifying. I put my heart in the job," Franken said. "I miss the whole job. I loved that job, I loved the job as Senator."
"Will you run for office again?" WCCO-TV reporter Esme Murphy asked.
"Well, see, if I say anything there, you'll put it in the story. I dont know. I don't know," Franken said. "I havent ruled it out, and I havent ruled it in."
Franken resigned during his second term in January after multiple women came forward to accuse him of past unwanted touching and kissing, although he did so with clear reluctance. Gov. Mark Dayton (D.) appointed Sen. Tina Smith (D., Minn.) to fill his seat.
The former comedian was a popular progressive voice in the Senate, and some allies remain upset he was pressured into stepping down without an Ethics Committee investigation.
His wife Franni said Franken's abrupt resignation had been difficult for them.
"It has been a challenge, but we do get to spend more time together, and I think there are times that both us would like to spend less time together," she joked.
Wonder if Franni likes to watch when Al is banging other real young chicks...
We’re talking REAL young chicks - like, ten, eleven, twelve year olds...
This is the result of marrying a completely worthless a$$hole. From the song:
“I spoke to your mother the other night, I told her I though you were an a$$hole.” “She said I guess you’re right.” “And all your friends are a$$holes and you have an a$$hole for a wife!”
The Big List of Local Elected Offices for Political Candidates
Power is VERY addictive.
Franken, the candidate that feels for you.
And who steals elections.
The democrats already have a full slate of failed comics in Washington.....
Reference: Hillary Clinton
On the reservation, Franken is known as Chief Gropintweeden...
Became a senator by open fraud, abused the office when he held it, molested women whenever there was an opportunity. Sure, he totally needs to be back in office.
He represents the “party of now standards”; why wouldn’t he run? Not like his base cares...
Letter to my Boss.
I have enjoyed working here these past several years. You have paid me very well and given me benefits beyond belief. I have 3-4 months off per year and a pension plan that will pay my salary till the day I die and then pay my estate one year salary death bonus and then continue to pay my spouse my salary with increases until he (or she) dies and a health plan that most people can only dream of having i.e. no deductible whatsoever.
Despite this, I plan to take the next 12-18 months to find a new position. During this time I will show up for work when it is convenient for me. In addition, I fully expect to draw my full salary and all the other perks associated with my current job.
Oh yes, if my search for this new job proves fruitless, I will be coming back with no loss in pay or status. Before you say anything, remember that you have no choice in this matter. I can, and I will do this.
Every Senator or Congressman running for re-election
Are we stupid or what?
YES WE ARE STUPID
He still has another 300 votes in a box in the trunk of his car in case he needs them.
Congress will not reform itself. We have to do it for them.
There are a lot of asses out there that need grabbing.
