FReeper Canteen ~ Sunday Chapel ~ Don't Get Nuked ~ 29 July 2018
Serving The Best Troops and Veterans In The World !! | The Canteen Crew

DON'T GET NUKED

The Navy and Marine Corps rightly spend much of their time on chemical, biological and radiological training. As bombs and triggering devices become more mobile and terrorists become more sophisticated, it is important to prepare ourselves for disaster while hoping that it will be avoided.

Regarding chemical and biological warfare, it is especially difficult to believe that something so small and invisible can be so deadly and dangerous. Just a little toxin in the air . . . and the next thing you know you're doing the "funky chicken" on the ground. Bad attitudes can be like that, too! Invisible and deadly. So can negativity, apathy, lethargy, and passivity. You can't really see those invisible attitude-toxins. But they are deadly poison. Just one little taste . . . and destruction of the soul follows.

Prayer: Heavenly God and Protector of our lives ... Give us a zest for life. Protect us from all the poisons and toxins that threaten our soul and spirit. Help us to suit up with anticipation and excitement for all which life has to offer. Cause us to breathe in the fresh air of purity and righteousness. And, Lord, if there does come a time of destruction and war, protect us from any form of chemical, biological, or nuclear warfare. May common sense and peace prevail in this troubled world and bring us hope. Amen.

LT L. D. Bohannon, CHC, USNR

Howdy, radu! Hope you had a great day at the museum today! Hope also that it didn’t get too hot for the work there! Did you get a lot accomplished? Was it hard to get up early this morning? My turn tomorrow morning. LOL!

Li’l Bit went out to join with her family this morning. She seemed happy to see the kittens and they were very glad to see her. The whole family had dinner together this evening...including Ghost. The bandage was still sticking a bit....they use some strong adhesive!...but I could see that she was healing well. No redness or swelling. She spent lots of time checking out “her” territory. So...things are back to normal.

Dear God:
I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman,
Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine
feel alone or forgotten.

O Israel, hope in the Lord;
For with the Lord there is loving kindness,
And with Him is abundant redemption.
And He will redeem Israel
From all his iniquities.

Psalm 130:7 & 8

For my friend, Gordon Dale Jansen, with whom I served in Vietnam, who died these past few days.

We’ll meet again.

Howdy, LUV!

It was really hard to get up this morning but it WAS a great day at the museum. The big crate is EMPTY and upstairs is organized as well as I can do it in the space available. If I was a drinker, I’d have popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate. LOL!
A new crateful of uniforms awaits me next weekend.

Arms and legs feel like lead tonight and the ol’ back is complaining. Just been sitting here in kind of a stupor. :-)

It was a pretty nice day today. Low 80s and not quite as humid as it’s been. Still breezy during the day, too, and that helps.

I’ll bet LB was thrilled to get back to her family again and assure herself they’re ok. Glad to hear her tummy looks good after the surgery too.

Good evening, radu, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

We had some sunshine early, and later some real rain. Now some sun, some overcast. Not a bad day

Did you have a great day at the museum?

Heh, had one stand on my back and shove rifle barrel in my neck with my teeth firmly planted in the pavement! I was like DUDE! We are on the same team! He did not blink...

At that moment I knew we were one and I had made an error in judgement LOL

Awesome that you got that huge crate emptied. Don’t blame you for feeling like celebrating. LOL! Just relax and chill for the rest of the night and let the ol’ back get some peace.

I was happy to see that she was good to go when I put her down on the patio. The kittens were so cute wanting to boop her nose. :) I haven’t noticed them wanting to nurse, though.

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

Yay! You DID get some rain today! Glad to hear it. Hope you didn’t have to get out to run errands at that time. No fun hauling wet bags of stuff into the house.

We could use some and are supposed to get it Tues. Some parts of the state have had decent rainfall this month but we’ve been left out many times. The crops are thirsty.

Yes, it was a great day but I’m paying for it now. LOL! The first crate of uniforms is empty, upstairs is organized, and a new crate of uniforms was brought in to be started on next weekend. I’d hoped for the crate of WWI uniforms but they aren’t ready for those yet, I reckon.
The uniforms they brought in today will be hung along the walls around the museum. No trips upstairs for a little while! YAY!
