Funny that a lot of conservatives are fooled and agree with the corrupt Congress favoring china over the USA.

China with the help of corrupt U.S. politicicians has been sending the USA back to the Stone Age as this
Congressional vote and this link shows that Just one city in China makes 90% of the world’s electronics

https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2017/11/inside-shenzhen-china-s-gadget-capital/

“Shenzhen is known as “the world’s factory” because so much of our stuff is made there. In fact, Inc. reported that 90% of the world’s electronics come from Shenzhen, including toys, televisions, air conditioning units, mobile phones and drones.”

Trump is the only one that has any clue how to reverse this and make things in the USA again. But the Fed is raising rates and the media is lying blaming the coming Fed induced recession on Trump’s trade “talk”.

This is a DIRECT challenge to the President’s authority. No surprise that most Republicans went along with choosing China over America. Traitors, all.

Challenging what authority? The power to levy taxes—including tariffs—belongs to Congress, not the President.

Congress cannot “cede” its Constitutionally enumerated powers. It can delegate them to an extent, but what it delegates it can take back.

Yep. You are more than welcome to offshore your production to a slave labor country like China. However if you want to import said toaster, we will make you pay more than it would have cost to make it in the US.

So it's ok for foriegn country to systematically dump products like steel or electronics to destroy industries in the USA and to have u.S. corrupt politicians aid that foreign country.

china has been waging war for decades against the USA in that manner.

It's an act of war to systematically dump to destroy industries especially those needed for national defense as in electronics, steel just at is is for a country to dump millions of immigrants into another country as that is an invasion (also ongoing and aided by democrats and the unitparty) : hence we have America in decline.

And add to that growth of government and regulations etc. We are headed for the abyss.

Congress gave the president the power through legislation to raise or lower tariffs based on national security and Congress can take that power away, also through legislation. You may disagree with the legislation, but Congress is exercising its constitutional authority, the same as the president is exercising his constitutional authority granted to him by the Congress.

And the battle continues. This where the President can crush these clowns. Just start letting the people know that they’re own elected representatives are choosing a foreign country over the USA. I’m sure it’ll go over well.

And IT GIVES A HUGE FINGER TO AMERICANS and rewards companies moving production to China. This SHOULD BE VETOED!

Yes, and the POWER OF THE VETO resides with the President.

“Another example why I am willing to contribute to President Trump’s campaign, but NOT to the GOP. The “Never Trumpers” have gone underground, but still control the GOP.”

Amen to that. I get 2 to 3 pieces of solicitous mail from Ryan and McConnell every week.....I have resorted to inserting them directly into the shredder unopened.

He is free to exercise it. And Congress is free to exercise its power to override his veto, should they have the votes. Again, not seeing any challenge of authority here.

Who said anything about any of that? I was responding to the claim that Congress was challenging the President’s authority, when in fact the Constitution gives the ultimate authority on this issue to Congress.

Yep, and the citizenry have the power of the vote to potentially NOT re-elect those Congress-critters who help China protect/consolidate its gains. It’s great to live in a constitutional republic with a patriotic President.

What bothers me more than any tarriff or non tariff... is the senate and house did this, seemingly against our President! Their President! undermining what he is trying to do in free trade. They do not understand the art of dealing and they won’t let him do it because they are ignorant of what he can do and how he does it! They won’t get behind him... they’d rather see him fail so they could say “we told you so”.. and that’s stupidity in full display and action!

They are in this for themselves.. to hell with the country and the people who voted for this change!

I heard it said from one of their own, the reason they can’t stand Trump is he came in and is doing things different.. not doing things the way they always have done it! Well, looks like their way is failure and Trump’s way is winning! They don’t care if his ways are successful or not.. they want it done THEIR stagnant way.. a proven failure... and that reasoning is a power play!

Partner, I agree with ur points!

Another freeper has said there is a huge disconnect between Congressional leaders (Mainly Paul Rino & Mich McConJob) and our POTUS.

These 2 have sold themselves to the interests of the US Chamber of Commerce, lobbyists, special interests and k street instead of siding with the people of the US. It is so pathetic to see this in our own party.

The main reason Mitch McConJob is worth $30 Million & Paul Rino thank God is leaving. The People's House can eliminate Paul Rino with a vote in the House now. We have heard that his in laws who r lobbyists r worth around $500 Million & they only had 1 daughter & Paul Rino is married to her. Paul Rino is the biggest joke evah since he could not even win his own town in Wisconsin nor the state in the 2012 presidential.

Our POTUS will not sign any Omnibus bill again. This is all that pathetic Paul Rino has ever done as the Speaker of the People's House. The US government has not run on a budget since Newt was the Speaker.
Main reason we have these huge deficits!!!

Our POTUS needs to shut it down.

The hill? Senate passes tariff relief bill

Idiots. They should be increasing those tariffs not decreasing them.

"Because the Senate amended the legislation, it will need to bounce back to and be passed again by the House — which left town on Thursday until September — before it can head to President Trump's desk. "

Steve hilton on foxnews today hammered republican swampdweller affinity for red chinese lobbyists, their money, and the chinese revolving door. Maybe this is part of what q is referring to(?)
