President Trump's approval rating among Americans stands at 48 percent, a new poll shows.
The poll from American Barometer, a new joint project by Hill.TV and HarrisX, showed that among those who approve of Trump's job performance, 23 percent did so "strongly" while 25 percent did so "somewhat."
The survey also showed 52 percent disapproved of Trump's performance, with 38 percent doing so "strongly" and 14 percent disapproving "somewhat. The poll was released on Wednesday's edition of new online video show "What America's Thinking" with Joe Concha.
Dritan Nesho, a pollster and CEO of HarrisX, said the new findings show Trump's approval ratings have not been hit by the recent barrage of negative news. Trump also remains a polarizing figure ahead of the midterms in November.
Despite recent events on immigration and Russia, Trumps approval is sustained by strong economic optimism and his positions on a series of core issues," Nesho said.
The American Barometer poll found Trump enjoyed the approval of 87 percent of Republicans and 44 percent of independents, but only 17 percent of Democrats approved of his performance.
The president also had a majority of approval from men (52 percent), whites (57 percent), adults aged 35 to 49 (54 percent), rural Americans (56 percent), and Southerners (52 percent), the poll showed.
This was American Barometers first measure of Trump support, which will be tracked weekly.
METHODOLOGY:
The survey was conducted online within the United States between July 23-24, 2018, among a randomly selected sample of 1,001 American voters.
The results are then weighted for age within gender, region, race/ethnicity, marital status, household size, income, employment, education, political party, and political ideology where necessary to align them with their actual proportions in the population.
Only 38 percent strongly disapprove? That’s very good considering the nonstop anti-Trump media coverage.
If they say it is at 48% you know it is really higher than that.
The enemedia will go berserk................
The more insane ra tings and bullshit attacks from mad max waters, pelousy, HilLIARy the vertical cadaver, McShame, the nuts ohio guy, kerry the red the higher djts polls shoot up
Other than wanting Trump to accomplish a lot between now and then, and I want to enjoy every minute of it, I can’t wait until November of 2020.
He’s going to crush the opposition.
Then we’ll reflect on these lies they’ve been foisting off on us.
So the kids at the border thing didn’t sink Trump?
The alleged crisis over Trump and Putin at Helsinki didn’t do the trick either?
There’s been no meltdown in middle America over the Kavanaugh nomination to the Supreme Court?
It really makes you wonder. How is it, that the MSNBC crowd and assorted liberals have meltdowns and hysteria over certain issues, but the American people overall don’t have the same reaction???
With the 92% negative reporting by the liberal media and he STILL gets 48% approval?? HAHA That has got to drive liberals crazy!!
“Only 38 percent strongly disapprove?”
That shocked me too ... those that seems to dislike him, REALLY dislike him. I’d like to meet the ones that “somewhat dislike” him ... I’ve yet to meet a person that “somewhat dislikes” him ... it’s either “likes”, “likes with some reservations”, or “hates”.
President Trump might be the only person who could survive a nonstop 90%+ negative news every day... And that's not counting the haters in Hollywood or the so-called comics on late night TV... or the other 'elite trash'...
And 98% of the media are in that sub group.
GOP must vote in the midterms.
Ignore the media hype and read Rasmussen.
The truth is GOP is down 12% with likely voters.
Wednesday, July 25, 2018
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 46% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trumps job performance. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove.
Seventy-seven percent (77%) of Republicans approve of the job the president is doing. Just as many Democrats (77%) disapprove. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 42% approve; 56% disapprove.
The latest figures include 32% of all Likely Voters who Strongly Approve of the way the president is performing and 44% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -12. (see trends).
I watch more lib TV than I should but I've detected a subtle shift, almost like some of them are getting fatigued from beating their heads into the wall but to no avail. His approval rating will soon be over 50% and they can't figure out why.
It's going to be a long 6 1/2 years for most of them.
They just dont get it. Its not despite his actions on immigration and Russia, its because of them (in addition to other things).
They just assume that their negative interpretation of such issues is some gospel truism and that leaves them completely flummoxed by his support.
“...the new findings show Trump’s approval ratings have not been hit by the recent barrage of negative news.”
Recent being the last 2+ years.
The Dems will have a nasty surprise later this year when they realize the people who voted for President Trump still support him, and that the so called blue wave is a wisp in the air.
He would tell about how he learned as a young radio talk-format entertainer that if you announced that you were going to do a show on psychic phenomena and ESP, you would "light up the phones" with numerous enthusiastic callers.
As a talk-show guy just starting out, he thought it was a fantastic audience response.
But then he found out from the advertiser reactions that no one was listening except for the psychic enthusiasts, who represent a very small fraction of the available audience. The "normals" weren't listening because they didn't care, and thought the psychic stuff was bogus, and listening to people talk about their psychic stories was boring.
In a way, the MSM-Democrats are falling for this trap. They are getting very enthusiastic audience reactions by ginning up Trump-hate, but the audience is small and they're not converting anyone; if anything, they're driving fence-sitters away.
