How I miss Barack Obama. And I say that as someone who worked to defeat him: I was a foreign policy adviser to John McCain in 2008 and to Mitt Romney in 2012. I criticized Obamas lead from behind foreign policy that resulted in a premature pullout from Iraq and a failure to stop the slaughter in Syria. I thought he was too weak on Iran and too tough on Israel. I feared that Obamacare would be too costly. I fumed that he was too professorial and too indecisive. I was left cold by his arrogance and his cult of personality. Now I would take Obama back in a nanosecond. His presidency appears to be a lost golden age when reason and morality reigned. All of his faults, real as they were, fade into insignificance compared with the crippling defects of his successor. And his strengths seriousness, dignity, intellect, probity, dedication to ideals larger than self shine all the more clearly in retrospect.

In academia and the media, certainly - consider that to state anything other than 0bama sycophancy would cost you your job in those two arenas for eight interminable years and you get an idea of why. In time that orthodoxy reinforces itself and you look around and everyone around you thinks exactly as you do (or else), hence must be right. That's how it happens.
He was so... so smart and clever... I felt a tinkle down my pants...
Another name and person to ignore.
W was a designated loser. Gore/Lieberman was supposed to be a sure winner. Until Hillary, the Clintons had never even reached 50% of the popular vote.
Obama wasn't supposed to win against McCain, he was supposed to lose, giving Democrats 4 years of race riots to pump up their numbers in the house and gain them two more senate seats before 'an injustice was righted'
Romney was a designated loser; get just enough support to win the nomination, then take the fall (without too much damage so he could come back and win the next go around.) Only he loved government mandates at a Republican debate and PelosiCare was an abysmal failure.
Time and time again, the people have somehow seen through a whole lot of horrible situations and taken the path of least damage to our nation (or in the case of Trump, just said screw it, America first this time.)
“I was a foreign policy adviser to John McCain in 2008 and to Mitt Romney in 2012 ...”

That’s all you have to read ...
I don’t kmnow who this schmuck is and I don’t care. Try again Wapo.
I was a foreign policy adviser to John McCain in 2008 and to Mitt Romney in 2012.
That told me all I needed to know about this geek.
One of those contradictions only a liberal can believe and say with a straight face: Washington Post Conservative
Take him. Please. The further away, the better.
I’ve not seen the Obama “Miss me yet” billboards like we saw after he was elected...
Yeah he’s about a “conservative” as George Will.
Another of the long list of Townhall Turds!
This never took place. A usurpation is not a presidency. The media saying he was president does not make it so. The Constitution tells us he was a usurper based upon the requirements of the Twentieth Amendment, Section Three, and Article Two, Section Two. Obama was never and could not legally ever have been a president and should not be mentioned in that way. From now on, it's Obama and usurper or usurpation.
He wants Whites put down, iranians given billions to kill humans, and everybody out of work.
WaPo and Conservative is a contradiction in terms
Max Boot has never been a conservative in my opinion. Never liked the guy, and only rarely agreed with him.
And his strengths seriousness, dignity, intellect, probity, dedication to ideals larger than self shine all the more clearly than a piece of shit sticking out of a goats ass!
Really, could he get more obsequious?
No wonder McC. and Mitt were such losers!
Let me Guess? Max is a Faggot? am I right-am I right?
Max Boot has been brain dead for a very long time. Among the worst of the Never Trumpers. I guess their consolation prize for having been rendered completely irrelevant in an age of total GOP control in Washington is that they get to publish things like this is the Washington Post.
