The federal government has finally recognized the obvious that sharing instructions on how to make guns with 3D printers counts as constitutionally protected speech. Despite little fanfare, this is an important victory for First Amendment rights. It also represents a real blow to the increasingly futile cause of gun control.

The real end of gun control will be when Congress gets off it’s a$$ and passes CCW Reciprocity, and a “companion bill “preempting all” State and local gun laws. The Second Amendment should not be subject to ANY State regulation.
“I believe that ANY crime that involves a firearm should get the death penalty after a trial and conviction.”
I am sorry, but that is a nutty statement. ANY CRIME? There are so many anti-gun laws that are felonies which do not involve and physical harm. Are you saying that you want to put someone to death for those “crimes?” I can’t believe a rational person would say such a thing!
“I HATE rust.
(you have no idea....)”
I’m restoring a 57 Bel Air and a 67 Camaro. I have an idea.

Death for ANY crime involving a firearm? To the law, that means the shotgun in your trunk when they bust you for a joint. If it’s in your immediate possession, it’s “involved”.
Aside from this bit of hysteria, there are in fact crimes very deserving of the death penalty. Premeditated murder, crimes against children, treason in time of war.
The problem is our courts and prosecutors and trial protocols have proven over and over that they can’t be trusted with the death penalty. There are lots more Nifongs out there who haven’t been stopped yet. So while I support the death penalty in principle, I must oppose it in practice as it is incompetently applied now.
It’s a bit ironic that we win the contests for exercise of the right to arms at just the moment in history when firearms are about to become increasingly less relevant to personal security and national security. Because of ever-smaller guided missiles and robots and robotic weapons.
Off-the-shelf affordable robots will be playmates for your children, maids for your house, waiters, and yes they will be used in crime, which should be no surprise. Mostly they’ll be used for burglary and robbery, but some will be used for terrorism of course, and some will be used by sick freaks for thrill crimes.
The robots will have semi-autonomous features, such as maintaining balance automatically, but mostly they will be remote-controlled by a human wearing a VR headset. The robot will in fact serve as a mechanical avatar for the operator.
If a bit of attention is paid to armoring the vital parts, a hobbit-sized robot can be made very difficult to stop with a hand gun. Make the robot larger and able to carry more armor, then you might not be able to stop it with a deer rifle. They will move fast so you won’t get many shots. Some of the smaller monkey-bots will be very fast.
We’ve seen nothing of the age of machines, yet. Nothing. They don’t feel pain or fear, suppressive fire won’t work, they won’t stop until they’re literally disassembled. We’re gonna need something better than gunpowder.
What if your left rear blinker is out on the truck you drove in to go hunting? Death? Really?
Robert Redford....does anyone care what some 1970’s leftover Hollywood leftie thinks?
Not the end just one step closer. Concealed weapons licenses are tobe prevent the poor from defending themselves.
MonkeyBots...
Gives me Ideas!
I hear wet sand blasting works well.
It’s the bolts that are the rust problem. I saw them off. Then replace with stainless steel.
I’m sorry, all. I should have defined it better. I should have said VIOLENT crime.
Yep, because that's the same thing as saying "hold muh beer 'n watch this!
I buy my propellant at the gun store. I got enough to last a few days.
Good solution. It works well on motorcycles, bicycles, and other long-term machinery too. Of course living somewhere that doesn't get too humid or too salty helps too.
On the other hand dry hot air is hell on rubber, cloth, and plastic. Not a lot of perfect places I guess. There's a triangle in San Diego just up the hill and to the East of I5, West of I15, N or HWY94, and S of I8 that's about the size of a 40K town that has the least temperature variance in the entire continental United States. I lived there for nearly 20 years. Much longer than I should have due to the near perfect weather. The CA politics and silliness finally drove me away when I saw an opportunity.
But I digress... BTW; Hawaii has the least temperature variance between its hottest hot and its coldest cold but the air is full of salt so it would actually be worse for barn find vehicles.
I live in Vegas, so my old cars age well. But there is still rain and RUST!
“...Congress gets off its a$$ and passes CCW Reciprocity...”
The 2nd Amendment IS your reciprocity, my brother.
Whether “they” like it or not.
My life is more important than - and supersedes - their stupid population control laws.
