Republican lawmakers were left shaking their heads after President Trumps Mondays press conference with Russian president Vladimir Putin, in which Trump declined to endorse the American intelligence communitys assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election.
Senator John McCain (R., Ariz.) called it one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president in memory and a tragic mistake in a statement. No prior president has ever abased himself more abjectly before a tyrant, McCain said. The damage inflicted by President Trumps naiveté, egotism, false equivalence, and sympathy for autocrats is difficult to calculate.
House speaker Paul Ryan also rebuked Trump, asserting that there is no question Russia attempted to interfere in the 2016 presidential election. The president must appreciate that Russia is not our ally, Ryan said. There is no moral equivalence between the United States and Russia, which remains hostile to our most basic values and ideals.
Senator Jeff Flake, a frequent critic of the president, called the press conference shameful and said Trump placed blame on the United States for Russian aggression.
Another outspoken critic, Senator Bob Corker, said he does want America to have a good relationship with Russia but thinks Trump made the U.S. look more like a pushover.
Senator Lindsey Graham called the summit a missed opportunity to hold Russia responsible for trying to undermine U.S. elections.
Staunch Trump ally Orrin Hatch issued a statement unequivocally blaming Russia for election meddling.
From the President on down, we must do everything in our power to protect our democracy by securing future elections from foreign influence and interference, regardless of what Vladimir Putin or any other Russian operative says, the Utah senator said.

same names different day
Waaaaaaaa, Hillary lost you rubes
Fervent Never Trumper ignorantly clinging to his rabid stupidity because his candidate lost the 2016 GOP Primary is what we expect from you.
No surprise you are here screaming in hysteric because Trump told the truth about your Uniparty Necon idols idiocy when it comes to Russia
Since when does the intelligence Community equal the United States are these things connected in some way?

They are our elected representatives.
Oh, wait.
Name a country Obama visited in his first year where he DIDN’T publicly run down the United States.
He had a global apology tour and started it with a victory lap through the middle east.
Hey Tool
When you express as much concern about the UK’s real efforts, with the fake Steele Dossier, to interfere in US Politics, as you are about the fake accusation at Russia, we might take you infantile ignorant bluster seriously.
Until then don’t waste our time with your rabid idiocy.
The only people at the summit who were “out of line” were the reporters during the joint press conference.
They tried their best to embarrass both Presidents with their “I dare you” questions, trying to get one to accuse the other of something.
That’s NOT what the summit was all about.
Insofar as Trump “dissing” our intelligence community, he’s still enduring over 500 days of them, dissing him. Trump is the one at whom all the arrows are pointing, and he’s going to speak up in his own self defense.
Putin called the bluff of the Mueller cult by making a full offer to allow them to come to Russia and question the “dozen Russians” that were issued indictments by Mueller. That’s a “no-go” for Mueller...and I don’t think he’ll do it. That indictment will be buried somewhere and never be seen again.
Then, there’s the $400 million “campaign donation” to Hillary from some Russian billionaire. A new twist on an old practice by the Clintons.
All this braying by the left about Trump being blackmailed, and dissing the USA in a foreign country, is just more cover to hide behind for their own foibles.
Obama dissed the USA over and over again to overseas audiences, and don’t forget the magical “apology tour”. Pelosi - who is rumored to have been instrumental in approving Obama’s questionable qualifications for office - never said a peep about the Kenyan’s attacks on America.
The attacks on Trump for this summit are total nothingburgers, with no basis in fact. When he was running they complained about his lack of international savvy, then when he goes and works on making and keeping peace in the world, and controlling nuclear proliferation, they sling darts at him about that too.
Just ignore the mASSES Trump, and full speed ahead.
All mask are off, all the deep state showed their ass yesterday
If McCain attempts to VOTE in the Senate, I expect him to be present.
Anything else is likely a forgery.
So. . let’s see. . .whenever Congress asks for answers and documents, that is, evidence of Russian interference in our elections, we are told “no can do. . .because of an ongoing investigation.” However, when Trump meets Putin, engages in normal diplomacy and refuses to rebuke Putin WITHOUT EVIDENCE. . .Trump is committing a heinous act against the United States. . .NUTZ!!!
Believing fake news and rotten corrupt politicians, are we? No president has leveled more damaging sanctions on Russia (while twisting Merkel’s arm to buy our oil rather than Russia’s) but believe the fake news, jackass.
Please present evidence that Russia colluded to affect the outcome of the election. Russians in the voting booth? Hack into paper ballots? Please something. if not go back to DU.....
Oh Ms Thand....you’ve swallowed the false narrative. You should have watched and listened to the press conference. Trump did NONE of the things you claim
The war mongers
Nope
Cindy and staff
Just wondering....are you happy with what Mitt Romney is doing?
Typical RINO-Democrat Axis.
You sound like a troll to me buddy
Your name doesn’t fool me.
Go back to Flake and McCain where you belong.
You KNOW Trump hit a home run at Helsinki when the neocons at the National Review are moistening the diapers at the thought of peace.
It's hard to see him, all covered with frost inside the freezer.
The President’s meeting with Putin certainly has a bunch of people soiling themselves in fear...
