Nearly a year after Donald Trump was elected president, the Republican coalition is deeply divided on such major issues as immigration, Americas role in the world and the fundamental fairness of the U.S. economic system.
The Democratic coalition is largely united in staunch opposition to President Trump. Yet, while Trumps election has triggered a wave of political activism within the partys sizable liberal bloc, the liberals sky-high political energy is not nearly as evident among other segments in the Democratic base. And Democrats also are internally divided over U.S. global involvement, as well as some religious and social issues.

I'm more long-winded, though...
Snotty and condescending as usual, what would we do without you as our self-appointed minder, lol.
Well, no, actually you’re not.

I totally agree...I know many Americans of Hellenic descent who were ridiculed by family for not doing their duty and voting for Dukakis despite the fact that he was utterly useless. I am sure the same happened to blacks with Obama.
The key to transformation is many cases is getting that foot in the door. These survey results, as slanted as Pew may have made them, suggest that while Solid Liberals are (for now) beyond reach, there any many people who can be "saved" that have more in common with normal Americans. There may be deeply-ingrained beliefs about Deplorables that may be hard to break, but you don't need to make them full-blooded bitter clingers...just show them enough truth so they make that first step toward freedom.
