FRESNO, Calif. -- Crystal clear surveillance video shows how a group of young men made off with a small fortune worth of Apple products in Fresno.

The four only needed mere seconds to steal 26 items totaling $27,000 Saturday morning at the store inside Fashion Fair Mall.

Lt. Mark Hudson of the Fresno Police Department says the group took, "Various iPhones, the iPhone 6, iPhone 7 and 8, and even the new iPhone X was taken in this grand theft."

Don’t they have to be activated?

I’d think so. I’m sure Apple knows what devices were swiped. They can be bricked like you say and still tracked in a heartbeat.

Not the brightest bunch of sons.

It's funny but each iPhone represents millions upon millions of hours of men of white European descent studying, experimenting, working hard to create something unimaginably complex and drawing on every field of scientific and engineering knowledge.

Consider over the last century:

The iPhone is the result of legions upon legions of unsung heroes, spanning decades of sacrifice, diligence, sweat, and work, each contributing his small piece to the puzzle. It the result of American heroes doing the work that had to be done.

And the monsters who snatch and grab the iPhones are lucky if they are able to spell their own names. The iPhone is so far beyond their mental grasp that it must be measured in orders of magnitude. A society left to these animals would be no society at all. It would devolve into a cargo cult of fear and anarchy.

Gang of thieves steal $27,000 of soon to be essentially spare parts from Fresno Apple Store in snatch and run robbery. Every thing they stole will be locked in mere minutes, likely before they reach their getaway car. My office was burglarized a couple of years ago and half-a-dozen iMacs and four Macbook Airs were stolen. I bricked them and set it up so when turned on the screen immediately took a photo of whomever was in front of the computer, then put up this message: “This computer is Stolen Property! Call the Stockton Police Department at 209-XXX-XXXX. Smile, your photo and its current location have already been archived and sent to the police!”—PING!

Apple Robbery Ping!

The phrase “cotton pickin’ fingers” wasn’t coined in a vacuum.

Not necessarily. Apple will allow them to stay active while authorities track them to where they are used. That's how Apple has recovered products from other store thefts. Thieves are too stupid to realize the products are on and traceable to locate their whereabouts. All it takes is for one of the devices to remain powered on. Even if they managed to power them all down before arriving at their destination, all it takes is for a stupid thief to play with one and get busted. The demo models are all linked back to Apple.

That really says it all. Civilized humans in a store. Street savages run in and take things that they don’t understand. They obviously aren’t going to use them. That requires a modicum of intelligence.

Says a lot about the USA. On one side, civilized people who work hard and pay taxes that go to the other side, uncivilized brutes who live as parasites off the normal people.

What will they exchange the computers for? bananas?

https://9to5mac.com/2016/10/17/apple-store-security-tethers-demo-devices/

“The iPhone will reset when the device is powered off and then plugged in. When removed from the Apple Store, the stolen iPhone can’t do anything but ring for Find My iPhone until the battery dies. The iPhones are also Activation Locked using iCloud as a deterrent just like customer iPhones.”

So yes, they do become bricks...

Apple should have no problem with this - probably won’t even press charges. That would be racist.
