Why don’t you think she would be confirmed? Whomever he nominates better be confirmed. The left would be fired up and try to shoot down any and all nominees.

And that is what drives me nuts about these never Trump people. Some of the stuff Trump does is a bit over the top but if he didn’t win you folks would have a really liberal court for a long long time.

Kavanaugh is very solid on 2nd Amendment rights. In a time when 2A is under assault like never before I hope it is Kavanaugh

In follow-on litigation to the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling on the Second Amendment in D.C. v. Heller, a D.C. Circuit panel majority, consisting of two Republican appointees, upheld the District of Columbia’s ban on possession of most semi-automatic rifles and its registration requirement for all guns in D.C. Judge Kavanaugh dissented (in Heller v. D.C. (2011)). An excerpt from his dissent:

In Heller, the Supreme Court held that handguns – the vast majority of which today are semi-automatic – are constitutionally protected because they have not traditionally been banned and are in common use by law-abiding citizens. There is no meaningful or persuasive constitutional distinction between semi-automatic handguns and semiautomatic rifles. Semi-automatic rifles, like semi-automatic handguns, have not traditionally been banned and are in common use by law-abiding citizens for self-defense in the home, hunting, and other lawful uses. Moreover, semiautomatic handguns are used in connection with violent crimes far more than semi-automatic rifles are. It follows from Heller’s protection of semi-automatic handguns that semi-automatic rifles are also constitutionally protected and that D.C.’s ban on them is unconstitutional. (By contrast, fully automatic weapons, also known as machine guns, have traditionally been banned and may continue to be banned after Heller.)

Penalty isn’t a tax. Words mean things.

Just curious, do you consider tampons a food? Or a drug?

I have no idea what the hell you’re talking about. The U.S. Supreme Court absolutely did NOT “implement tax law” in that decision.

"When’s the last time a President got to name five?"

Wouldn't THAT be something? We'd know G*d's hand is at work if that happens...

I still love W I think he was a great president. Reagan was my favorite till now. Trump has superseded him in general.

I proudly voted for GWB both times, however I think much of his administration was a wasted opportunity, he tried too play to nice with his "compassionate conservatism" and was too cautious about pushing a conservative agenda. And what did he get for it? Treated just as bad as Trump by the left.

His opposition to Trump I can almost understand, remember his brother Jeb was crushed by Trump so there was bound to be some friction there. Though he has said a few things in the last couple years that makes me question if he ever was truly a conservative...

Kavenaugh lied to protect the Clintons in front of the Vince Foster case grand jury. No one who ever did that should ever ever be considered for the Supreme Court no matter what else they’ve ruled on or how they vote. I do not excuse people just because they believe my beliefs.

The Clintons were empowered to continue to use killing as a way to dispose of those in their way. How many died because the murder of Vince Foster was covered up?

Thanks for the first hand report.

I think I bored people repeating my grudge about that forced CNN propaganda but it still seems to be true. A shame.

We all know we repeat the advertising catch phrases we hear a thousand times and say “You deserve a break today” or “don’t leave home without it” or something to each other. Now people hear Trump is going to be impeached or Trump is a white racist all day.

Actually, McConnell tried to talk the President out of nominating Kavanugh ... Mitch felt the judge’s paper trail is too long and will slow the process.

Past time “conservatives” not be such gullible fools for every Radio clown show that spends all it time screaming in hysteria at their own side.

I agree with you in every point apillar. I believe he is a good man and a patriot and did so much good but of course I have a few small bones to pick. For that matter I am uneasy with a couple of trump things but I keep my expectations reasonable and he’s exceeding most of them.
