Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) privately urged President Trump in a phone call earlier this week to nominate federal Judge Merrick B. Garland, then President Barack Obamas third nominee to the Supreme Court who was summarily shunned by Senate Republicans in 2016, to replace retiring Justice Anthony M. Kennedy.
Trump had called Schumer on Tuesday afternoon for a Supreme Court-centered conversation that lasted less than five minutes, according to a person familiar with the call. Schumer, the person said, pressed the president to name Garland to succeed Kennedy, arguing doing so would help unite the country.

>>Better yet, POTUS Trump should nominate Any Schumer to the Court.<<
Can you IMAGINE the heads exploding if he nominated Ted Cruz?
I would not put it past him in his ongoing “screwing with liberals’ heads” campaign.
It’s opposite year - Just do the opposite of what Chucky Schumer wants and the country will prosper.
If Garland were a decent human being, he would announce that he is not interested in ascending to the SCOTUS at this stage and for the media and Schumer to please refrain from touting him as a candidate. (But he’s not, so he won’t).
I trust the President will give it all the consideration his suggestion merits.
And who sez ‘ol Chuck U Schumer doesn’t have a sense of humor
The president only gave Schmucky five minutes of his valuable time. This is desperation when Schmuck suggests the president nominate the lefty hack The One tried to get on the Court.
I trust the President has already given it all the consideration his suggestion merits.
Yep, because theyd do the same, right? Pick a conservative judge to unify the country.
I can’t believe Chucky has the gall to dig this name back up. What a Schmuck.
Got news for you.....Chuck Schumer is already being ignored...so, is Nancy Pelosi, so, is the entire Democrat Party.
If the Democrats think it is bad now...just wait until the on coming political slaughter that will befall the Democrat Party on election day this year, occurs.
Go, Trump, Go, MAGA!!!!
You lost, Putz.
[ Schumer urges Trump to tap Merrick Garland for Supreme Court]
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
(ow, my side)
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
Instead of President Trump selecting his own candidate, the Left wants him to pick their guy.
Why would Trump even consider electing the Resistance's liberal candidate?
The Left loses an election and they still think they are calling the shots.

"'The premises of authoritarian collectivism,' Lippmann wrote in The Good Society, 'have become the working beliefs, the self-evident assumptions, the unquestioned axioms, not only of all the revolutionary regimes, but of nearly every effort which lays claim to being enlightened, humane, and progressive Throughout the world, in the name of progress, men who call themselves communists, socialists, fascists, nationalists, progressives, and even liberals, are unanimous in holding that government with its instruments of coercion must, by commanding the people how they shall live, direct the course of civilization and fix the shape of things to come.' - Walter Lippman"Such times of mental and spiritual flux as we are now experiencing have led, at certain other points in American history, not into collectivism and disappointment but into what Lincoln called 'a new birth of freedom' for 'this nation, under God.' That is the future we can have, once we understand that ideas have consequences*, for no one and nothing can deprive us of the individual freedom to choose our own ideas and the individual courage to act upon those ideas at whatever price. If enough of us are awake to that freedom and alive with that courage, noble myths and grand realities must surely be the consequence." - George Roche, in The American Collectivist Myth: Its Roots, Its Results, Its Downfall
"The really satisfying part of the whole experience of Western civilization, and specifically the Judaeo-Christian ethic, is that you are building something that you are handing down to those who come after. You are putting more in than you are taking out. That used to be what was so fine about this country. It is what could be so fine about this country again. We have before us the most enormous intellectual opportunity to change the course of our social order, and with that perhaps the course of the world. We have it right in our hands to do something about it." - George Roche, in The American Collectivist Myth: Its Roots, Its Results, Its Downfall
