With Sunday’s election of Andrés Manuel López Obrador as Mexico’s next president, the idea to revisit the legality of our southern border, proposed by Mexican leftist leader Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Solórzano, is suddenly not so crazy.

They seriously want to re-litigate the Mexican-American War? How about World War II?
How many square inches of land on this planet hasn’t been invaded or occupied?
Any other wars where you want a do-over? How about how Mexico got the land from the [next level more] indigenous people? Are you going to reverse that too, or are you just a brain damaged hypocrite?
How about this, we will enforce our border and you will comply or die.
Wow! Why not just lawfully cross into Mexico ( they carry US documents, right? And stay. I am sure the Mexican govt will feed, clothe educate and employ you free gratis.... If you go and then find there is no light at the end of that tunnel, and try to return, we will have to think about it.....
If Mexico wants another war then this time we get to take Cabo San Lucas and Cozumel!

Could you or someone refresh my memory please? Didn’t Mexico start that war?
This crap only goes one way.
The reality is....Mexico shouldn’t exist...It should have become part of the United States.
Secondly, if we are going to open up the terms of the treaty, we could just annex all of Mexico. Two points here: (1) There was sentiment back in 1848 to annex all of Mexico. (2) One might wonder why one wants to have a Republic of Mexico at all given all the Mexicans who want to live in the U.S.
I should respect a paper that is willing to publish alternative views--but can one wonders if there were more plausible and sane views to publish.
I also am quite fond of Mazatlan and Acapulco. I visited those places in 1981. They were beautiful.
You see, the etymology of Mexico is Nahua. Metztli means moon. Xictli is bellybutton. Co is an suffix that refers to "place". So it means "The belly button of the moon".
Mexico refers to the "place for the Mexica people"... and most of them today are decendants of the conquistadors from Spain who invaded them.
Maybe they should give Mexico back to the Aztecs. Give Texas to Mexico and in a couple years Texas would conquer Mexico and half of South America. Give California to Mexico and in a few months they would be bankrupt.
Have we ever bombed Mexico ? If not, now would be a good time.
