Sen. Susan Collins (R., Maine) said on Sunday that any nominee for the Supreme Court that had demonstrated hostility to Roe V. Wade would not receiver her support.
CNN host Jake Tapper asked Collins about how President Donald Trump expressed desire to nominate justices who may vote to overturn Roe V. Wade if offered the opportunity. Collins, who supports Roe V. Wade, is a key vote in the Senate, where Republicans only have a one vote majority in the chamber.
"With all due respect, the Supreme Court, as we know, it overturns its own rulings all the time," Tapper said. "It has overruled more than 200 of its own decisions, once just last week and it is a stated goal of President Trump and Vice President Pence to appoint Supreme Court justices who will vote to overturn Roe Versus Wade. whether they said it on the campaign trail or they say it now, it's almost immaterial, it's a stated goal."

Susan Collins - once again showing support for those radical Mainers and the Republican Party.
Freakin’ RINO. Nothing like a single issue congress critter.
This is no Republican.
Overturning Roe v Wade would only return the control of abortion to the states. Collins obviously prefers federal control over states rights, which is really what this is.
Translation: I love dead babies.
why do these people keep living?...why do people keep electing these old farts?
That's the key phrase. What it means that if someone is nominated who is on the record saying negative things about Roe, she won't support him/her. That is not the same thing as saying she is going to demand a commitment from the nominee not to overturn it.
So, the trick is to nominate an originalist/textualist who is almost certainly against Roe (because that's inherent to being an originalist/textualist), but just hasn't said so in public writings or statements.
She's actually giving the Administration a way out with that statement.
You’re absolutely right.
I guess this means Protestants are out again.
It's OK for states and local governments to enact gun control laws, even though the 2nd Amendment was written in blood.
But let a state enact reasonable restrictions on abortion, and it gets shut down by activist judges.
OVERTURN Roe vs Wade. It is mostly responsible for the divide we now have in this country, the destruction of the 10th Amendment and Federalism, the poisoning of the judicial process, and the phony construct of Red vs Blue states.
WHERE IS "CHOICE" FOR STATES???
That’s what p***** me off about women. That’s usually their problem.
Trump still has plenty of options...just pick someone that hasn’t commented on it, but will still kill it.
It’s no surprise to see a U.S. Senator from one of the whitest states in the country staking a claim as such a strong supporter of a government policy that was designed to control the black population.

They are panicked because they know the Roe decision was based on judicial fiat, and can likewise be undone. The constitution does not mandate it, unlike the Bill of Rights.
Collins has no problem with mass murder.
That is the sad state of progressive logic, reason and compassion.
I bet she sure does love all those Somalians that are destroying Lewiston and Portland.
