“It depends on the circumstances,” Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein testified Thursday when asked if he reads every FISA application he signs authoring the government to spy on its citizens.

Rosenstein testified in a House hearing on potential abuses by the Justice Department (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding its investigation of President Donald Trump and potential Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

When former judge Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) asked Rosenstein about the FISA warrant he signed, Rosenstein looked to FBI Director Wray for the answer – a move that disturbed Gohmert.

Rosenstein eventually admitted that he signed the warrant to spy on Page. But, he told Gohmert that he doesn’t need to read every FISA warrant he signs, that he merely need to understand what’s in it.

Amazing. I mean simply amazing.

I think there is something deeply going on here. Trump knows, Sessions knows.

I think all roads point to Obama and it’s just a matter of time that it will come out.

I really don’t understand why these guys Wray and Rosenstein aren’t angry as every one else on this.

He was briefed by his staff that this warrant allows them to spy on Trump and look for dirt to shoot him down. Insurance policy.

“It depends on the circumstances,”

Okay. How about warrants targeting the political opponents of a sitting administration?

Maybe someone can explain to me how you know whats in it, if you don’t read it.

You have to pass the bill, to know what's in it.

You have to sign the FISA warrant, to know what's in it.

It's the Nazi Pelousy principle.

They’re either in on it or have had their lives threatened.

Signing a surveillance warrant without knowing (and consenting to) all the pertinent details contained therein should be a felony. At the very least it should be a fire-able offense.

Trump should can him and have federal marshalls take possession of all of his government equipment.

Correct me if I am wrong, but by the time Rosenstein signed the FISA warrant to spy on Trump, this action was already known to be a controversial issue. Isn’t that true?

So would not a prudent manager ask the subordinates, who put the FISA warrant on his desk, some very tough questions as well as read the warrant?

It depends on the circumstances,

I think signing a fisa warrant for surveillance on the president elect would certainly require at least a cursory review, no?
