A prominent anti-gun crusader called out the National Rifle Association less than two hours after an active shooter was first reported at an Annapolis newsroom.
Five people were reported dead at the Capital Gazette building, and multiple more were injured.
Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts used the tragedy in an attempt to debunk a tweet the NRA put out earlier in the day.
“An armed man is a citizen, an unarmed man is a subject,” the NRA tweeted, which included a 17 second montage of newspaper headlines illustrating times that firearms deterred crime or saved lives.
Watts replied hours later, tweeting “Today an armed citizen killed unarmed ‘subjects’ in their workplace in Annapolis. See how that works, @NRA?”

Yepper. Everyone knows if you put up a sign that says “No Guns Allowed”; everyone, including the nut case criminals, will obey the sign. They will double obey it if the state outlaws guns.

I read there was a 60 second response to this shooting, and still there were many casualties.

An armed employee could have been able to stop it in just a few seconds, not “60 seconds” claimed as the response time. The rulers of Maryland have decreed that their subjects/serfs may not be armed. Why?

The Nutjob was also an employee of the federal government, a software engineer working for the Bureau of Labor Statistics - maybe hae made the fake algorithm that ignored all of the people who “stopped looking for work”.
I guess they don’t want them shooting each other. not working out so well.

I have no idea what race or political party she is, nor do I care. It’s what she doesn’t do that counts just as much as what she does.
I’m still waiting to find out about any ARMED security guards at that paper. So far Crickets.

In the state of Washington if somebody has a sign like that in their store or business I just ignore it. And it is legal to do so. However, if they somehow discover that you have a firearm, they can ask you to leave. If you don’t, then you can be charged with trespassing.
Guns are banned from most schools, all bars, and the Post Office, courtrooms and other places like stadiums.
It’s Biden’s fault. The murderer used a shotgun.
I recall an editorial based on the idea of a “letter from the grave” from one of the dead teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary. It was a bit crass I suppose to put words in her mouth after she was dead, but it was interesting. In the “letter” the deceased regretted that she was more worried about keeping her job than keeping her kids safe. It went on for quite awhile and like I said, had an interesting perspective.
I don’t recall reading that one.

And, staying safe is important.
I just did a search of my bookmarks and the internet. I probably read it on FR, but iirc it wasn’t by a freeper, it was on a link. But, it got lots of bad comments at the time seeing as it was pre-supposing thoughts onto a deceased teacher. So perhaps it just “went away”.
