“Trump already has the nominee chosen ready
to roll.
He likes to be prepared....”
If he’s too feeble to address some kids wearing baseball caps backward, he’s too feeble to control the Senate. He needs to get out.
I’m no fan of his wife either although she was willing to do the work her man was unwilling to do, lol.
I think she’s too much of a globalist. Big surprise married to Mitch.
Right! I’m sure at night they count all the money in their counting house while the rest of us shop at Dollar Tree, lol!
LOL
Hey, I don’t know about them but it seems many go to Congress to get rich.
Silly me, I’d like to go there to help the nation and my constituents.
Heck, the salary is nothing to sneeze at and they get a great medical program and a great retirement.
Why must they be so crooked?
Frog and the scorpion.
Well... yes it is in their nature evidently.
I disagree, though I don’t trust Mitch on a lot of things, he got us Gorsuch. I think with Grassley kicking him, he’ll get this done. Are you saying the judges on Trump’s list are unworthy of SCOTUS, or do I misunderstand you?
first day of autumn this year is in 88 days, so that’s actually pretty fast as these kinds of things go ... after all, this is a lifetime appointment of one of the dozen most important officials in our government ...
Exactly right! Kennedy steps down on July 31.
There’s an orderly process to go through, this isn’t the drive-thru at McDonalds.
This has been a great week for freedom- some statist crap has been shoveled out.
You misunderstood.
Vote next month? Hell, vote this month, this week, TODAY!
My court source thinks Manchin will vote for whomever is put up; and if it is Amy Barrett Comey from IN, Donnelly will vote for her.
Kennedy doesn’t retire til July 31. Relax. Jeez.
"I give her high marks for her amazing courage. She didnt back down one inch. She was in their faces."
Indeed - I have to question why the US Senate Majority Leader, not to mention a Cabinet Secretary, would not have better security detail than what they appeared to have in the video.
As far as this vote, we are almost into July - we have the appointment which may not come for a couple of weeks, then the vetting, the Senate meetings, the hearings, debate, etc. "Fall" could be September which is not really that far off. 2-3 months appears to be about average for nominations to confirmation...not sure why we are suddenly thinking this is somehow a long period of time as compared to other nominations.
Samuel Alito: Nominated 10/31/2005 - confirmed 1/31/2006
Sonia Sotomayor: Nominated May 2009; confirmed August 2009
Elena Kagan: Nominated 5/10/2010; confirmed 8/5/2010
Neil Gorsuch: Nominated 1/31/2017; confirmed 4/7/2017
I don't understand the comments re: a nomination that will probably be made in July being confirmed "in the fall" is somehow an outrageous period of time that people are acting like it is unheard of and McConnell is doing something sinister.
Your comments are all sound.
You do have to recall that we just approved (only a few weeks back) a judicial nominee from May of 2017.
That’s where the snail’s pace comments are coming from.
Our judicial appointments are lagging badly. Many of them go for over three months.
The incivility, banality and ignorance on display is astounding.
No wonder it takes almost three months to finish a FReepathon. If Jim got a nickel for every inane comment, wed be done in a week.
☹️
Flake, Corker, McCain, Collins, Murkowski. I see this cabal ganging up to block a conservative nominee in favour of balance. Trump needs at least 55 GOP Senators to prevent the hardcore RINOs from blocking his MaGA agenda.
Consider Songbird McCain, he isn't dead yet.
And Flake. He's a traitor.
And Linda Graham (RINO-Dumba$$-SC) has had his moments too
Why next fall? Due it over the July 4 holiday. Trump has his list and the Senate is in D.C. Quit dicking around Mitch. Get your turtleneck straight and gavel the Senate in session
