The point is that the injunction against the travel ban has been dissolved. That is it takes effect from this moment. I would now expect the defendant to file a motion for summary judgment based on the law as interpreted by SCOTUS. As I read the decision, there does not seem to be any limitation on the president’s authority under the statute, so what facts need to be tried?
It is my understanding of this
SCOTUS ruling, that the president
has the power to ban any country
that he deems a national security
threat, from entering the US.
Mexico, with its cartels, drugs,
and child trafficking does certainly
fit the criteria. If Trump pulls this
off, it’s going to be his biggest

Agree, but the original post (and my comment) were directed at McConnell’s blocking of Obama’s lame duck appointment to the Supreme Court. Which, if allowed to go through, would have given Dem sympathetic judges a 5-4 majority on the Court. It’s tough enough for Trump to do the right thing(s) as it is, with Gorsuch on the Court.

Perhaps someone should point out the irony that the same argument can be made against Obamacare, which Sotomayor voted for. In upholding Obamacare the court misconstrued legal precedent and turned a blind key to the pain, suffering and financial ruin Obamacare would impose on the middle class.
When I use the word “closet,” I do so because none of the four (as far as may be discovered to date) are declared official members of the American Communist Party. So, while their actions are openly those of a socialist bent, still they have never publicly stated they are “official” communists - hence the term “closet.”
