The YouTube is interesting, because early indicators is that Disney is going to be going in a SJW direction as they replace Iron Man with Captain Marvel, played by Brie Larson.
Valhalla Hawkwind
Replace Iron Man, a second tier character who blew up on screen, with a fourth tier character that most people thinks is a dude with a lightning bolt on his chest at the other comic company. Mix in heavy SJW plot elements, lots of “you go girl” moments, and some in your face “f-yous” from the star. Recipe for bigtime success!
“I will put this to you as bluntly and plainly as possible.
There are people out there on both sides of this argument that are salivating at the lips for this, because it is drama, it’s chaos, and it’s clicks.”
Ping.
It is so easy to not see a movie. Problem solved.
I don’t want to hear what an actor has to say.

This is a discussion item on Free Republic???? Discussing fantasy characters and who is going to play them onscreen. And there is and actual dialogue going on?
What is going on here? Millennial idiots and genxers talking about comic book hero’s
Captain Marvel will be a big deal movie. Make no mistake.
Carol Danvers in the comics was not a bad character, at least not when she was introduced in, I’m thinking 1970’s.
The original Marvel Captain Marvel was Mar-Vell a Kree warrior who gained cosmic power before he eventually died of cancer.
As I recall Danvers was in the original Captain Marvel series and eventually gained the original’s powers. That was a long time ago.
In the MCU, apparently the Carol Danvers Captain Marvel will come out being the most powerful being in the MCU, able to move planets (at least according to the lead actor Brie Larson).
Generally, I’m not a fan of changing male characters into female characters but, in this case, I’m trying to keep an open mind.
Avengers: Infinity War ended with Thanos wiping out half of the sentient beings in the universe with a snap of his fingers after he gained the powers of the infinity gems. At the end, right before he turned to dust, Nick Fury used his secret decoder ring to summon Captain Marvel from wherever she is in the universe.
“Captain Marvel” will take place during the 1990’s with the major conflict being between the Kree and the Skulls. The Skulls are really cool because they are shape-changers, and many of the heroes who died may end up having been Skrulls. In addition, there will likely be a time travel dimension in Avengers 4, but regardless, many heroes who were obliterated will be somehow resurrected (think Spider-Man).
I’m not prejudging the character nor the first two movies in which she will appear. The mythology has held up well over time and the MCU has yet to produce a real dud. I’m willing to give it a chance.
Mine Mine Marvel.
Original member of the Merry Marvel Marching Society from the mid-1960’s.
Hollywood has been out of ideas since last Century. The only reason the Super hero movies do so well is because they are using stories from the 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s that couldn’t be done on-screen before modern CGI.
Once they burn through the past stories and start with the SJW nonsense that will be the end of the Super Hero movies and a big hit to Disney and Hollywood.
What is a Brie Larson?
White men should sell her to ISIS.
I didn’t bother with “Black Panther” and I also won’t waste any time on “Captain Marvel”
Lol, sexist and racist all in the same sentence. But its ‘PC’, so its okay and the media will like her for it.
This version of Capt Marvel can’t sustain an ongoing series. They keep rebooting and cancelling it, trying to make it “a thing.”
Marvel’s had a pretty good track record with movies about third tier characters (Ant-Man, Guardians), but those movies were marketed as funny and exiting, whereas this one seems to be aiming squarely for the “you have to see it or you’re sexist” crowd that drove the Ghostbusters remake straight into the bargain bin.
Disney is bidding for Fox.
Once they take that over, the pace to ban all dissenting voices will accelerate.
Lost interest in Marvel movies after Ragnarok..
I havent watched the latest Avengers or Black Panther and really have no desire to.
