President Donald Trump signed an executive order Wednesday that he says will keep migrant families together during detention on the U.S.-Mexico border.
The president will not abandon his "zero tolerance" policy of criminally prosecuting all adults who cross U.S. borders illegally.
Earlier, he signaled he would sign a measure to stop his administration's splitting of migrant families.
"I'll be signing something in a little while that's going to do that," he told reporters during a White House event after saying he wanted families to be kept together. "I'll be doing something that's somewhat pre-emptive and ultimately will be matched by legislation I'm sure."
Trump added: "We're keeping families together, but we have to keep our borders strong. We will be overrun with crime and with people that should not be in our country."
The order is expected to allow families to be housed together even while adults in the family are being detained or prosecuted for crossing the U.S. border illegally or for seeking asylum at the border outside of a designated border entry point.

Sad thing is that this means we are going to see a mad dash of thousands trying to rush across the border. Trump should order all available law-enforcement to the border—like all of the FBI staff in DC headquarters.

Family together in publicly paid housing? Only they can’t leave? Sounds like a housing project.
I believe that there is a federal law that says that minors cannot be housed in adult prisons; I don;t think that even breastfeeding mothers can keep their babies with them. And the Flores consent decree does not permit illegal-alien minors to be detained for more than 20 days irrespective of where they are housed. We need for Congress to legislate on this matter to keep liberal judges from releasing all of those illegal aliens before their asylum cases are heard.
President Trump and Secretary Sessions were absolutely correct to end the catch-and-release policy that led asylum seekers to bring kids along (whether their own or someone else’s) in order to avoid detention while waiting for their asylum hearings, thus allowing them to flee and then not show up for their hearings. But we need Congress to fill in the gaps in the law so that legitimate family units are kept intact and we don’t have to deal with all of that negative publicity.

If the proven parents of the children are placed in the children’s shelter, which is not a prison, that solves the problem.

That explains why the majority of the videos last night seem to be of older teenage males. It looked exactly like the videos of when all those escorted “children” were coming in. It looked like an invasion of those of military age.
