Rep. Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) surged into first place with a commanding 14-point lead in Arizonas closely watched GOP Senate primary, according to a new poll.
A poll conducted by Phoenix-based OH Predictive Insights (OHPI) has McSally ahead with a little over 39 percent of the vote, followed by former state Sen. Kelli Ward at 24.5 percent and former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio trailing far behind at nearly 14 percent. About 22 percent of voters remain undecided.
This is a big shift since OHPIs last poll from April, which had Ward in first place and leading McSally by 9 points in the race to replace retiring GOP Sen. Jeff Flake. Arizona will hold its primary on Aug. 28.

Nominating rotten RINOs jeopardize our hold on the Senate, it does not bolster it.
I told that line of your’s about McSally’s flying skills at the Kelli Ward office in Tempe a couple of weeks ago. I did not say who said it — just a friend. I broke up the whole room of people that were there that Saturday.
Her Trump score is 97%

Higher than Flake’s, she’ll be fine
Kelly knows it’s my line. I said it again at a meet and greet she was at last week! How’s the mood there in Tempe?
She supported amnesty and she quietly had them take her name off as a sponsor. I’m tired of electing people like that here in Arizona. We’ve had two. It’s enough.
I’m tired of seeing democrats beat weak candidates.
Conservatives in Arizona (and some outside) know Marfa McQueeg. They’ve seen that dog and pony show for decades. They saw it with Barry G. in his sad, final years in office. They’ve seen it with the Manchurian Candidate, Juan. They’ve seen it with Psycho*uck Flake. Pretend to be the rightiest-right winger in the whole of America at primary time, vote like an establishment automaton or an open-borders Soros puppet from the day they’re sworn-in.
It’s enough already.
Dr. Kelli Ward is the ONLY choice for Arizonans.
And we’re tired of FAKE Republicans voting like Democrats, running interference for Democrats or serving as ringers to elect them to the Presidency.
McQueeg and Psycho*uck Flake agree: They ain’t voting for Dr. Kelli Ward. That’s all a Republican Arizonan needs to know to proudly cast a vote for her.
I just showed you how she’s NOT voting like a democrat. You know who’s voting like a democrat? Sinema.
I’m way up in the NW corner of the valley. Just went down there for a short meeting. But, I would say the mood was good at that time three weeks ago.
She has a lifetime ACU record of less than 72% Conservative — in just 3 years ! That’s terrible. She voted to the left of Flake (his lifetime rating is a 93%) (!), even McQueeg got an 81% lifetime. So that makes her technically WORSE than both. Ask Hildy about ole Marfa. She knows. Marfa McQueeg, with a worse record than the treacherous, treasonous Senate twins.
Dr. Ward had a 98% lifetime Conservative rating from the ACU. It is unimaginable to support someone who isn’t even a Conservative for this seat.
ACU ratings aren’t my be all end all.
I totally reject the “she’s worse than McCain” argument. She’s definitely better than today’s McCain and better than today’s Jeff Flake as well, what they were before they started to be total a-holes is irrelevent. Her Trump score is higher than both. Her precious ACU rating for last year is a just fine 85 so trashing her to the level you are is hyperbolic.
As for Ward somewhat more conservative for a markedly decreased chance of beating SINEMA is not a good trade off. I don’t care how much red meat Ward is serving. Sharron Angle and Roy Moore served up red meat and all it gave us was the runs.
She is, but the faux candidacy of Sheriff Joe-—WHO IS BACKING HIM???-—has split the anti-McTurd vote right down the middle. Ms McTurd is now about 1% ahead of the combined Ward/Joe vote-—which isn’t a good sign no matter how you look at it.
I’d rather nominate McSally and have a 50% chance of getting a Senator with an 85 ACU rating than nominate Ward and have a 20% chance of getting a Senator with (if her deeds end up matching her words) a 95 ACU rating (and an 80% chance of getting a Senator with a 10% ACU rating).
Kelli Ward has served, what, 2 years as a state legislator in a safely GOP district a few years ago? Given her lack of electoral and political experience, she should run for the House in a safely GOP CD and use the next few years to prove her conservative bona fides and gain political and electoral experience. I hope that, when John McCain joins the Choir Invisible, Gov. Ducey appoints Congressman Paul Gosar (who has had a conservative voting record in the House and already has represented around 20% of AZ voters in Congress) to the Senate seat, and I also hope that Ward replaces Gosar as the GOP AZ-04 nominee in November (and, if there’s a special election for the rest of Gosar’s House term, that she runs and wins it).
“Dr. Ward had a 98% lifetime Conservative rating from the ACU.”
You meant to say that “Dr. Ward received a 98% ACU rating in 2015, the only time that ACU scored her voting record.”
2015 is also the year in which Kelli Ward announced that she was anti-abortion, renouncing her 2012 position that abortion was a decision “between a woman and her doctor.”
I’m not saying that Kelli Ward is not a conservative, or even that she’s not more conservative than Martha McSally; but Ward’s political views are a work in progress, and we don’t know how she would handle tough votes in Washington when she’s being pulled in different directions. But more importantly (at least in my eyes), Ward needs to gain additional experience and improve her political profile before she’d be my preferred choice to take on an experienced bullsh1t artist like Sinema in a U.S. Senate election. Sinema is as liberal as they come, but she cleans up nice and knows how to project a moderate image when it suits her, and the AZ GOP needs to bring its A Game. I’m not sure that McSally is an A, but she’s probably an A-, and I think that she has a much better chance than Ward of beating Sinema in November.
Wise words, both your last two posts.
It’s hyperbole comparing Dr. Ward to Chief Justice Moore and Sharron Angle. You disregard what Conservatives in AZ know and feel about Marfa. They don’t want her.
Add to that: You could’ve made the same arguments about Flake in 2012 as you’ve done for Marfa. I refused to support him, and was proven correct about him. I know a rotten RINO when I see one.
The issue here is money, too. Ward isn’t “poor”, she does have $1.9 million. Marfa has $4.2 million. Arpaio has a paltry half-million.

She won’t be voting an 85 rating in the Senate. I guarantee it will plummet like a stone once in office. Any sucker who buys what she claims deserves to get hosed. You guys are way too smart to fall for this again.
Ward served 3 years in the State Senate. She got 40% against the treasonous McQueeg, despite being massively outspent and the Establishment working overtime to destroy her candidacy.
She doesn’t have to prove her bonafides, she already did in the AZ Senate. Marfa McQueeg, by comparison, has proven she’s nothing but another non-Conservative RINO and puppet for the corrupt Establishment.
Nope. They scored two of her three years. She got a 100% rating in 2014 and a 95% in 2015. The rhetoric matches the record where Dr. Ward is concerned. It’s all hot air and bullcrap with Marfa McQueeg. Just another “Flake.”
