An FBI attorney who worked on the special counsels Russia investigation until earlier this year sent anti-Trump text messages to a colleague, including one exclaiming: Viva le Resistance.
The attorneys comments are revealed in a Justice Department inspector generals report released on Thursday.
The lawyer is not identified, but he worked on the Hillary Clinton email investigation and was the FBIs lead attorney on the investigation into Russian election interference. He was assigned to special counsel Robert Muellers investigation soon after it began in May 2017 and left in late February of this year after some of his private messages were shared with the special counsel.
The inspector generals report focuses on instant messages that the attorney exchanged with a colleague about the Clinton and Russia probes.
I am numb, the attorney wrote on Nov. 9, 2016, the day after President Trumps election.
I am so stressed about what I could have done differently, the lawyer continued, apparently referring to the FBIs handling of the Clinton email probe.
The attorneys messages show that the was distressed at the FBIs decision in October 2016 to re-open the investigation into Clintons emails. Democrats have claimed that decision hurt Clinton at the polls.
The FBI lawyer also suggested that he would work to resist the Trump administration.
Is it making you rethink your commitment to the Trump administration? one FBI lawyer wrote on Nov. 22, 2016.
Hell no. Viva le resistance, the future Mueller attorney responded.
During interviews with the office of the inspector general, the lawyer claimed that his personal political feelings or beliefs in no way impacted his work on the Clinton or Russia investigations.
The lawyer did acknowledge that the messages created the perception of anti-Trump bias. He told investigators that he can understand the, the perception issues that come from the Nov. 22, 2016 exchange.
The special counsels office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
It would have to be ‘Viva’ plus ‘la’ not ‘le’ to be Spanish..........
It’s what is called a “macaronic phrase,” meaning it mixes a couple of languages.
“Viva” is the subjunctive of the Spanish verb vivir, and it means, in this case “Long Live [the whatever or whoever]”. I think he was trying for “Resistance” in French, but of course he didn’t spell it correctly (he left out the accent) and got the gender wrong, so that one didn’t work! Then again, maybe he doesn’t even know the difference.
But we all know what he meant, and it is seriously disturbing that he got away with this.
The Left doesn’t see it that way. They see them as heroes and patriots........................
That’s exactly what they did. They created a pidgin sentence from two languages...............
Of course they do..turning America into Commieland is FAR more important
Strzok was assigned to Trump collusion and fired after discovery of the texts.
Still, why is his name a secret?
Could it be the lawyer on Muellers team who took a hammer to Hillarys Blackberries? Or is that a different completely biased democrat shill?
Trump is way overdue to stop this crap
I’m thinking he is ‘giving them enough rope’.........................
LOL. I don’t know there are so many!......................gonna need a ‘Program’ just to tell them apart!.................
“Viva le Resistance” translates as:
Member of the coup plotter team....
He has been passing out rope for 17 months. It’s all weakness now and the closer he gets to Mueller end the harder it will be to fire him and his minions.
So far, all Mueller’s band of merry miscreants have done is mess up peoples’ lives that have had little or nothing to do with ‘Russia’..........................
Once again proof this is not an investigation it is a coup attempts! People clean your guns.
If he was an honest investigator with just a touch of integrity he’d shut it down himself admitting that all the evidence is too tainted and unreliable to support any sound conclusions. This proves this whole thing is a sham.
Obama/Hillary probably get a Daily Briefing
It’s not clear what language he(?)is trying to write, but it would be wrong in most romance languages.
“Vive” and “Viva” are both legitimate forms of the verb in Spanish but the meaning is different. “Vive” just means “lives” and “Viva” is subjunctive tense, which could mean “may it live!” or “long live.” That’s probably what that idiot was trying to express, but did not understand tenses and was too lazy to figure it out.
