Humble Love
June 13, 2018
The greatest among you will be your servant.
Matthew 23:11
When Benjamin Franklin was a young man he made a list of twelve virtues he desired to grow in over the course of his life. He showed it to a friend, who suggested he add humility to it. Franklin liked the idea. He then added some guidelines to help him with each item on the list. Among Franklins thoughts about humility, he held up Jesus as an example to emulate.
Jesus shows us the ultimate example of humility. Gods Word tells us, In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant (Philippians 2:57).
Jesus demonstrated the greatest humility of all. Though eternally with the Father, He chose to bend beneath a cross in love so that through His death He might lift any who receive Him into the joy of His presence.
We imitate Jesuss humility when we seek to serve our heavenly Father by serving others. Jesuss kindness helps us catch a breathtaking glimpse of the beauty of setting ourselves aside to attend to others needs. Aiming for humility isnt easy in our me first world. But as we rest securely in our Saviors love, He will give us everything we need to follow Him.
Beautiful Savior, I am Your servant. Please help me to live in Your love and be a blessing to someone today.
We can serve because we are loved.
Philippians 2 teaches us that how we behave is rooted in what we believe. Paul says the call to humble love and service is built on the example of Jesus. We are to be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. He then adds, Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others (vv. 24). This type of living does not come naturally. Only when we allow the Holy Spirit to enable us can we live out the humble love expressed perfectly by Christ.

Like everyone else, you have a to-do list... but you don't always prioritize getting around to it. You are productive as your spirit moves you to be. Sometimes this means crossing off a lot of items on your list, but other times it means doing something else entirely.
You do best when inspiration strikes, and it's hard to predict when that will be. You thrive with flexibility. Interruptions tend to distract you, but sometimes they are a welcome distraction. You do best when you focus on short term goals. |

When it comes to managing your time, you have it down. You know what you need to get done at any one moment. You are good at breaking your time into chunks. You are good at multitasking and making progress on tedious tasks.
At times, you may take on what seems to be too much. However, you are good at getting it all done - even when you are overwhelmed. You are not the type of person who is happy being idle. Even when you're not actively doing anything, your mind is going full speed ahead. |

Hi Luv. Sez here this week that I can now attach the
control part with the
freak I have been labeled oh so often.
YOU ARE A CONTROLLER
When it comes to productivity, you run a tight ship... even if you're working entirely by yourself.
You are big on planning and schedules. When you start to write things down, it's amazing how much you are able to squeeze in.
You are highly determined and quite stubborn. You prefer to stick to your original plan unless there is a reason to change.
You finish what you've started, and you finish a lot more than most people. You don't give up on your goals.

No one is exactly sure how you get things done in life, and that includes you! You just figure it all out somehow. You like to stay busy, and you're often juggling a few balls in the air at once. But you are never all work and no play.
You are the type of person who has a good time getting things done. If it feels like work to you, you probably won't do it. Sometimes you wonder if you should be more disciplined, but in reality, you get as much done as those who lay down the law! |
