Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz announced late Thursday his office will release the highly anticipated report about how the FBI handled various aspects of the 2016 presidential election on Thursday, June 14.
The announcement comes after Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley again rescheduled a hearing, originally set for June 5, to go over the long awaited OIG investigation findings.
"Thank you for inviting me to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on June 18, 2018, about the findings in the Office of the Inspector General's (OIG) forthcoming Review of Allegations Regarding Various Actions by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the Department of Justice (Department) in advance of the 2016 Election," Horowitz wrote in a letter to Grassley and Ranking Member Dianne Feinstein Thursday afternoon.
"Prior to the June 18 hearing, the OIG intends to release our report publicly and to provide the report's classified appendix to our oversight committees," the letter continues. "We anticipate releasing the report on June 14, 2018."
Horowitz will testify under oath in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee. The hearing is titled, "Examining the Inspector Generals First Report on Justice Department and FBI Actions in Advance of the 2016 Presidential Election." The report is expected to span nearly 500-pages.
Grassley has also requested other witnesses testify about the OIG findings, including former Deputy FBI Andrew McCabe. McCabe has reportedly been in talks with the Committee about receiving immunity in exchange for his testimony. He was fired earlier this year by Attorney General Jeff Sessions for lying multiple times to federal investigators, including agents working for the FBI and OIG.
After he's done with the Senate, Horowitz will sit in front of the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees for questions about the findings in the OIG report.
In “Q” we trust.
Same old, same old. Justice will not be done as usual.
Oh right and as soon as we get a day or two from it they will push it out again. I am so sick of the BS! Send Special Ops into the damn justice department and get the damn report and the damn documents they obviously are not going to produce on their own!
Agreed. Rumor has it that POTUS is preparing to do exactly that. Military tribunals and GITMO for the acts of treason, as opposed to criminal courts, with the risk of corrupt judges and tainted jurors. My guess is the corruption will be dealt with through the criminal justice system, but the treason and sedition will be handled by the military. The evidence for treason will come out through the prosecution and testimony of the mid-level crooks like Comey, McCabe, etc., and it will implicate Obama, Hillary, Brennan, Jarret, etc. The storm looms.
The media is not going to report on it no matter when it comes out. These continuous delays are BS.
Trump could unredact the whole report over Rosen-weasel’s head, and the IG would likely be happy to do so.
Who is going to have the guts to ask Horowitz if he was asked or ordered to make changes to the report, by whom, and what the changes were? He is under oath.
Lawyers out there, would he be able to avoid answering by claiming some sort of privilege?
If its true that McCabe is seeking immunity, it must mean there is a threat from someone other than the IG.
Oh, Pooh bears!
Go Sessions! To Hell with the haters! Kick the Deep States ass!
The Sessions DOJ is stonewalling.
Pardon the editorial edit.
Once Spygate is associated with a coup attempt not against Trump, but the sovereign - We the People - then the game will be afoot. That's because a coup d etat is actually just a highly leveraged revolutionary act of war against the executive. That means treason, and that means all sworn constitutional officers are compelled to act in defense of the nation against enemies foreign or domestic that pose a clear and present existential threat to our way of government.
Another week? Good grief. What a steaming pile of horse sh^^
LOL Surely you are being sarcastic right/?????
You’re looking in a mirror.
“Isn’t it funny how NO ONE here considered Trump to be a hero in any sense of the word — at the time.”
I thought he was a hero for making Soetoro release that fraudulent birth certificate in 2011. I was on board when he first threw his hat in the ring.
Q “There will be growth in the Spring”
IG report summary: “Comey’s poor behaviour hurt Hillary’s chances at getting a fair election.”
