Arnold Schwarzenegger, who once famously warned Republicans that they were dying at the box office, has decided not to support either of the leading GOP candidates for California governor, a spokesman said on Friday.
The former governors decision to speak out against the candidacies of John Cox, a Rancho Sante Fe businessman, and Travis Allen, an Orange County legislator, stands in sharp contrast to his past refusals to weigh in on those who have followed him into office.
They will not get his vote, said spokesman Daniel Ketchell.
Schwarzeneggers decision was based on the candidates' past statements about climate change, including Californias current efforts to curtail greenhouse gas emissions that began during Schwarzeneggers administration in 2006.
"He won't support any candidate that plans to take California backward and undo our environmental leadership, Ketchell said. He would not elaborate on who Schwarzenegger might support in Tuesdays statewide primary.

He’s voting for a new house maid I’ll bet.
Well, he’s mistaken, and too stupid to realize it.
According to NOAA, the global temperature has gone up 1.71 degrees F, or .95 degrees C since 1880.
Given the so-called prevalence of man-made carbon dioxide, there’s no way the temperature shouldn’t have risen MUCH higher over the same period of time.
The science isn’t being proved, which means it isn’t so,
Global warmists say all this WILL happen. Not that it DID happen. But every year we see global temperatures evening out, with 100th of a percent rises are screamed about as “hottest year ever” scaremongering.
Aunode who?
Least effective governor in American history. Who cares what he thinks?
>>>People who supported Schwarzenegger back in the recall should have known better<<<
>>>There were a lot of them on this board. They argued that he was more “electable” than Tom McClintock, a true conservative with a solid track record<<<
I’m not a fan, but Arnold ran for Governor on promoting specific Ballot Measures that would have been great if passed. As Governor, he pushed those Reforms all the way to the Special Election.
After the Government Unions spent Tens of Millions to defeat ALL those Ballot Measures, Arnold just gave up citing “the will of the people” and that was that.
I like McClintock, but he would have been lucky to get 20% of the Vote if he even made it to the General Election.
I remember the Ahnuld fanboys gloating that an Ahnuld governorship meant that he'd "bring the businesses back" and "put California in play for Bush" and "make California a red state"
Well, I suppose he did accomplish the third goal. California is run by communists now.
Hey Arnie....remember when the dims promoted global warming...they lied
The Sun has gone to sleep
No Sunspots for you
Prepare for another ice age.
Have a nice day.
No one cares about the Vaginator.
I’m sure Arnold has limited himself to 55 gallons of water a day already to show his support for combating climate change.
Back before they were commercially available, Arnold drove a Humvee around.
Schwarzenegger should be burned in Effigy*.
*A small village in East Buttehurt County.
But....Hell be bach.
Hasta la vista, baby!
And therein lays the problem. "Fiscal conservative" Ahnuld spent zillions of taxpayers money on a "special election", trying to drag people out to the polls when there wasn't an election already scheduled. The unions handily defeated him in getting "their people" to the polls.
Had Ahnuld simply not wasted taxpayers money and waited around a few months later until a REGULAR ELECTION to put his referendums on the ballot, he wouldn't have needed to beg voters to show up, and would have had a better chance of passing reforms.
Incredibly, even AFTER Ahnuld insisted on a "special election" and got his butt whupped (then said he "learned his lesson" not to do that), he nevertheless decided to push for ANOTHER "special election" a few years years later to pass MORE "emergency reforms" (all of which, not supremely, went down to defeat AGAIN)
You can't fix stupid.
The problem with Schwarzenegger is that he refused to use his popularity to extend coattails to other Republicans on the ballot.
Even during his reelection when Tom McClintock was running for Lt. Governor, Schwarzenegger refused to endorse McClintock and ended up with Democrat John Garamendi as his Lt. Governor.

I’m sure Gavin Newsom is a man Arnold can get behind.
I supported Tom McClintock. If Arnold hadnt run history would be different.
Well, we gave it a shot with Arnold.
I loved McClintock, both the Congressman and the Movie, but Tom would never had been Elected Governor of CA.
