Manafort attempted to tamper with potential witnesses -U.S. special counsel

President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, who has been indicted by U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller, attempted to tamper with potential witnesses, Mueller said in a court filing on Monday.

Mueller, who is investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, asked the judge overseeing the case in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to revoke or revise an order releasing Manafort ahead of his trial.

Manafort was released to home confinement after his arraignment in October.

Mueller has indicted Manafort in federal courts in Virginia and Washington, D.C., with an array of allegations from money-laundering and failing to register as a foreign agent, to bank and tax fraud. Manafort has pleaded not guilty.

FBI Special Agent Brock Domin, in a declaration filed with Mueller's motion, said Manafort had attempted to call, text and send encrypted messages in February to two people from "The Hapsburg Group," a firm he worked with to promote the interests of Ukraine.

Interesting the way the “Paul Manafort” story shows up exactly the day before the OIG report and testimony to Congress. CoinkyDink??????????

#4: "Potential witnesses” So talking to basically anybody.

Sort of like Mueller put him on "Double Secret Probation".

Sessions, whose blindside recusal gifted us with this never-ending witch hunt, is a disgrace. <<

No fan of Sessions...but he may be providing the longevity of the investigation that might turn over EVERY rock in the swamp.....

The longer this lasts and the more that is known just unites honest people that don't follow “politics”..the 1st mission is to make everyone aware of the "SWAMP"

I believe this is all a fishing expedition and witch hunt, but frankly, I have not heard a single good thing about Manafort, and plenty of bad things.

Granted, those bad things were by people in the Trump campaign who had reason to hold a personal grudge against him...but still.

He is the dirty one in the campaign (there was a reason Trump fired him) and the other two (Page and Papadopoulos) just sound inexperienced and ambitious (a dangerous combination when people are looking to stick a knife in your back)

Herr Muëller does know a thing or two about tampering. After all, for how many years did he write letters to the parole and pardons board requesting that Peter Limone, Joseph Salvati, Louis Greco and Henry Tameleo, all innocent men, not be released? Yes, Herr Muëller DOES know a thing or two about tampering with innocent lives.

Some might consider it unfortunate that his Vietnam Bronze Star was not awarded posthumously.

Obersturmbannfuhrer Mueller should be offered a Luger and a cigarette

I think Sergeant Donny Donowitz and Lucille should at least "interview" Herr Mueller before the Luger offer...

He's a fibbie.

Corrupt to the core.

That’s way too much of a reach for me. Mueller is destroying lives and livelihoods. He’s been known to drive innocent people to suicide. His entire investigation is unconstitutional. Longevity is the last thing it needs.

Manafort hasn’t done anything hundreds of others aren’t doing on a daily basis in the influence peddling, carnival of whores known as DC.

The communications were "in an effort to influence their testimony and to otherwise conceal evidence," Domin wrote.

And the evidence of this is. . .?

The complaint, written by the FBI "agent" (hired 2015) says he left vmail saying "I want to to tell you about this article, which tells it like it is".

Ukraine is not Russia. And with what has Mueller charged The Podesta Group, who had “forgotten” to register? Crickets...
In fact, he hasn’t indicted ANY democrats, has he? Odd how the MSM, not to mention most of congress, don’t seem to think that that is significant.

Are the persons he attempted to communicate with the same Obama Admin. persons he was working in collusion with when they were supporting Russian backed Viktor Yanukovych?

Mueller’s desperation is palatable... Was Manafort told he wasn’t allowed to speak to anybody, anywhere, anytime? This is a red-hearing, but if the Judge is an Obama appointee... Who knows? Maybe they do get him locked up. Good luck with finding anything on Trump though.

Mueller’s appointment has brought to the forefront his tainted career in law enforcement and his multiple failures to actually achieve any significant prosecutions. His appointment as a special prosecutor was a conflict of interest and pretty much every conviction or guilty plea he has achieved will likely be voided. He will go down as a complete failure and his acceptance of this position was a mistake from the very start.

Frankly, I think he’s aiming to get himself fired so that he can blame it all on Trump, but Trump should resist that temptation and let him die by his own sword. All of this will eventually find it’s way to Judges and courts that are not tainted with Obama appointees and partisan Democrat Judges. When that happens, his entire house of cards will come crashing down.
