Former President Bill Clinton says that, even in light of the #MeToo movement, he would not have approached how he dealt with Monica Lewinsky any differently and acknowledged that 20 years after their relationship made headlines hes still never apologized privately to the former intern.
"I don't think it would be an issue," the ex-president told NBC News' Craig Melvin in an interview that aired Monday on the "Today" show, after he was asked if he would have "approached the accusations differently" if he were president in 2018 "with everything thats going on with the #MeToo movement."
"Because people would be using the facts instead of the imagined facts. If the facts were the same today, I wouldn't," said Clinton, who was doing the "Today" interview along with author James Patterson to promote a new book they've written together titled "The President Is Missing."
In 1998, Clinton first denied then admitted to an affair with Lewinsky, who had been a White House intern at the time. The scandal launched a lengthy investigation that ended with Clinton becoming the second president to be impeached.
Clinton told NBC News that he stuck by his decision to fight his impeachment rather than resign, telling Melvin: "I think I did the right thing. I defended the Constitution."

Good answer, Bill. Have a cigar.
What is that in between Bill and Hill?
Has it been twenty years already?? it seemed like it was only a few years ago Monica was crawling around on her hands and knees
Ask him if he still would’ve discussed deploying troops on the phone while getting a hummer from a non-security cleared intern...
Would he still have wagged his crooked finger and shamed America?
That’s Webb Hubbell’s daughter, Chelsea, IMHO.
shut up geebus you’re being stupid
I am speaking TECHNICALLY
The only thing he was ACTUALLY FOUND GUILTY OF was perjury, for which he lost his law license (for 3 whole months).
He is guilty of so many other crimes that he’s never been prosecuted for
READ THE WHOLE RESPONSE before jumping to spout off
Are we a little aggressive today? Its ok, Ive been naughty, I enjoyed your spanking. ;)
I wasnt really responding to you personally but to all the people on the thread who may not have remembered that the President was in trouble for his sex assault on Paula Jones. Which was a crime.
The dog is hacking up a hair ball when he saw her...
More than that, he was in a position of power over the intern and had karnal knowledge on federal workplace grounds plus it was performed on him while he was conducting official presidential work (phone call with yassar Arafat).
That alone should be grounds for impeachment and removal. What an immoral man.
“Bill Clinton: I wouldn’t have done anything differently in Lewinsky scandal even in #MeToo era...because easy tail is easy tail.”
Is that dog barfing?
I'm sure Bill Clinton would love some private time with Monica for an . . . apology.
Gross as ever.
Those bent sidewinder schlongs have been know to fire off like that I have heard!
The “tells” in this situation were that he was a married man, he was president, and there was no way he was going to divorce his wife and pick Monica for a wife.
He totally abused that young woman, for his own personal enjoyment and receptacle.
The “women’s” movement ended right there.
From that moment on it was seen for the fraud it had always been.
Consensual doesn’t change the location of many of his trysts with Monica.
He sullied the office of the President-—literally.
As usual, he has absolutely no remorse for all the damage he has done to many women.
I don’t feel sorry for Hillary-—she is even more EVIL, IMO.
Is bill (still) trolling for milfs??
Wouldnt you?
He’s raped several women and doubtlessly has abused and taken advantage of countless others.
But that little slut Monica wasn’t one of them, she came on to him.
I often wonder who was the first one to order the murders... Hill or Bill.
I suspect she was. He was a horn-dog who might have gone far on his charm but she was the evil demon goading him on.
I suspect she just intimated that she wanted someone ‘dealt with’ and after a few dozen suggestions that they were not properly ‘dealt with’ yet they found people surrounding them who knew how to ‘deal with’ them correctly. When they mysteriously died shortly after, then it was like “Oh, OK... “
Those people became their inner circle.
I suspect they never once uttered the words “go kill this person”. The ONLY thing hilLIARy learned in law school was how to avoid prosecution.
