There were two storms and the first one fired up right over the farm. Loud claps of thunder had me out the door with the camera. I wasn't out there two minutes though.
This doesn't look all that impressive ....
.... but it was close enough I felt the heat from it and the hair on my right arm felt funny.
It struck something just to the right of the Jeep in the bottom right corner of this shot ...
Hubby's cousin was in the Jeep at the time! I imagine he had to change his britches when he got home! LOL
Shags will be fine. I don't know why that shot knocks some down and doesn't affect others but it doesn't knock them down but a day.
Yikes! When ya feel the heat, you’re waaaay too close! Good shot though! Especially since it was daytime.
NO KIDDING!! I came back inside immediately. I was standing on the deck under the roof overhang because it was raining a little so didn’t have far to go. I wasn’t out in the yard like I usually am.
I did go out a little later because there was still a lot of flashing and rumbling going on. The storm hadn’t moved far at all and was really putting on a show just east of us. It was like a strobelight in the sky. I went out to the driveway for a while and suddenly realized I was hearing thunder in stereo - - in front of me and behind. Another hoss of a storm was boiling up to the west so I went to the other side of the house to the edge of the field for more video clips. Again, strobelighting but the lightning bolts were as visible. It finally got close enough to make me nervous so it was back to the house.
That storm didn’t move eastward very fast, either, so it was a while before I felt comfortable turning the computer on.
Sounds like a very exciting storm for you! I look forward to seeing the good ones! :)
It didn’t rain here. What a shocker. LOL!
Evening, Beach - and Kathy! Gut Shabbes!
Love those spider-webby bolts. This next one is the storm to the west as it was moving in. This bolt did a lot of zig-zags across the sky before going down to zap something on the ground. It was about a mile away and is the one that made me decide to head back to the house.
Good morning ladies. How's it going?
Wow!!!! Those are gorgeous! I love the shades of purple in the first 2. Unless it’s just my computer, but they’re wonderful in any shade. LOL!
Guess I’d better make the rounds of the bird nests and get to bed. I’m kind of tired, like the heat sucked all the energy out of me. See ya tomorrow. Tunes! Yay!
No, it isn’t your computer. Lightning turns clouds all kinds of colors depending on the energy it’s putting out.
I can understand your being drained by the heat. It sucks the life out, no doubt. Sure would be nice if the hot spell would break and give y’all some relief.
Not sure if I’ll be here tomorrow night. All depends on the weather. If it’s nice, we’ll go out but if it’s stormy again, as they predict, we’ll stay home and I’ll be here a short time. Early to bed tomorrow night for an early rising Sat. Museum day. :-)
:-)
We’re supposed to have a day under 100 on Sunday. We’ll see what happens.
Hope y’all get to go out tomorrow night. Sometimes it’s just good to get OUT! Ya know?
Yay for museum day! Are they planning anything for the 4th of July?
Guess I’d better go now. I tried earlier but had to peek in on the birdies. Divi has such a large crop that he just flops forward when he’s ready to nap. :)
Praying for a double-digit day for you Sunday! Y’all need a break! And you reeeeeeally need some rain but one of the two is better than none.
It’ll be nice if we can go out but I’m not holding my breath. Tomorrow is supposed to be a repeat of today and yesterday. We have a big batch of ugly coming in now that should be here before too much longer.
I haven’t heard anything mentioned about plans for the 4th of July at the museum. I’ll try to remember to ask but with my CRS ....
LOL
Divi is a happy, full little bird once again. I’m so glad things have turned around at that nest and he’s doing so well now. We all thought he wasn’t going to make it. Nice to have some good news on an eagle nest after such a rough year for others.
Good morning Ma ((HUGS))
Safe from flooding here. But I need a couple days of sunshine. Looking ahead, it seems we’ll get sunshine AND hot temps (I told Luvy to keep the heat in TX LOL)
Have a wonderful, relaxing weekend.
Good morning and Happy Friday, du ((HUGS))
I think we got some of that storm last night; heard the thunder and old dog was quaking through it.
Good morning and Happy Friday Meg ((HUGS))
What a nice place.
Off to sit with father-in-law.
Hope everyone has a great day and weekend.
Stay safe. Have fun.
Thank you to all our military, our allies, and their families for your continued sacrifices.
I actually did some SERIOUS jamming on Monday in my sister’s living room! Got to solo on guitar, which doesn’t happen very often, as my BIL is a better solo player than I am.
A very late WOOOHOOOOOO! LOL!
