Publix CEO Todd Jones on Tuesday told the father of a Parkland, Florida student killed in the February 14 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that the Florida-based supermarket chain would not be making a donation to the schools student fund. Last week leftist revolutionary Parkland student gun control activist David Hogg demanded Publix give $1 million to the Stoneman Douglas Victims fund to atone for donating a reported $670,000 in recent years to Adam Putnam, a pro-NRA Florida Republican running for governor. Hogg led a die-in inside Publix stores last Friday to protest Publixs support for Putnam, who is currently Floridas Agriculture Commissioner.

Just before the start of the die-ins Friday afternoon Publix announce it was suspending political donations for a period of review. A Publix customer service representative told this writer Friday evening Publix had taken no decision at that point on Hoggs million dollar demand.

When the lights go out, these kiddies will see a real die-in at the Super Market.
Yup. It’s really just all fun and games for the kids. The “cause” is mostly irrelevant. I remember clearly those days. Sure, there were a few fanatics, but they were weird and, frankly, kinda dumb and easily duped.
His mommy is/was pro-Hillary and anti Trump....a real staunch activist.
Why dont these corporations just match charitable donations made by their employees? Think of what a powerful change that would make in the corporatist poltical lobby business.
The brown shirt and pant stains will not so easily be removed from the aisle.
Camera Hogg is the wrong color FOR Succe$$ful extortions.
Siding with the Hoggs is a good way for 50% of their customers to get piping mad and not shop at Publix.
They chose wisely...
I'm not sure the fey and scrawny little Hogg is all that interested in chicks.
Hogg’s problem is with the Constitution. But the Constitution won’t pay him either, so it’s on to blackmail. Kudos to Publix.
> None of these people have anything to do with any school shooting. Why are they harassing these people? <
Just as NFL fans have nothing to do with police shootings. But that’s one thing about liberals (David Hogg, BLM, etc.). Their cause MUST also be your cause. And if you disagree - or if you want to remain neutral - you’re branded as a hater.
Great article, as always Kristinn.
The “die in” is divisive political rhetoric. Publix customers by the millions would be more than angry if Publix succumbed to this political rhetoric. These children are genuinely oblivious to the hostility their fascist tactics engender.
Late medieval abuses
Indulgences became increasingly popular in the Middle Ages as a reward for displaying piety and doing good deeds, though, doctrinally speaking, the Church stated that the indulgence was only valid for temporal punishment for sins already forgiven in the Sacrament of Confession.
In the later Middle Ages, growth of considerable abuses occurred. Greedy commissaries sought to extract the maximum amount of money for each indulgence. Professional “pardoners”, who were sent to collect alms for a specific project, practiced the unrestricted sale of indulgences. Many of these quaestores exceeded official Church doctrine, whether in avarice or ignorant zeal, and promised rewards like salvation from eternal damnation in return for money.

The Parkland Shooter missed.
It’s ALL about the Benjamins............................
“Isnt this extortion? Pay me a million or Ill destroy your business
Isn’t this the same thing that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have been pulling off for years? Publix should have never given in to David (camera) Hogg to begin with in regards to suspending donation to NRA.
Whatever will the left do??
Come on Hogg, you need to ramp it up and get louder, crazier, more in your face. Don’t they KNOW WHO YOU ARE???!!
