Liberals always seem to be declaring they only want bans or restrictions on certain types of guns. Added to that is their declaration of support for the Second Amendment. However, once in a while, one of those liberals lets their mask drop and makes their true intention known.
Such a person is the editor-at-large Dave Holmes of Esquire magazine who flat out declared in the wake of the school shootings in Texas on Friday that he wants to ban all guns. Here is Holmes saying what most other liberals are careful to keep under wraps in Okay, Now I Actually Do Want To Take Your Guns.
Hey there, NRA:
Listen, I know the moments after a gunman opens fire in a school are hectic for you. You have to get your talking points together, you have to mentally prepare to debate a traumatized yet sensible child, you have to look at yourself in the mirror and practice saying that more guns would have made the situation less deadly. It’s a busy time! And since we are always either in the moments after or the moments before a mass shooting, you’re pretty much always busy, I have noticed!
Anyway, I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that I now actually do want to take your guns.
All of your guns.

Unfortunately, emotional responses to DO SOMETHING often do more harm than good.
In this case, those pushing for more unconstitutional restrictions on gun ownership and use are all to happy to inflict harm on others with their emotional response.
The author likely does not own any guns or see any use for them.
So, he sees no harm to banning them, restricting them, confiscating them, trashing the Second Amendment, and eliminating constitutional constraints on police action.
But there are severe damages done with these actions. They trash the rule of law. They trash the idea of limited government. They attack the very idea of Constitutional rights.
Thy attack the idea of reasonable response.
Before the Media made celebrities of school shooters, mass school shootings were rare events.
Before the federal government made schools into gun free zones, these were rare events.
Lets repeal the gun free school zone laws before we attack the Constitution.
Lets see the media adopt reasonable restrictions on making mass shooters in celebrities, before we adopt their favored agenda of more Second Amendment infringements.
The potential harm of the emotional DO SOMETHING response is large, real, and relevant.
I can’t imagine buying a magazine these days. They’re all ads and sleazy articles.
I love these guys, they self identify as the enemy so there’s no doubt.
I’m convinced prescription drugs are a big part of the mental state of kids in schools that prescribe them—namely all of them. Ritalin is an anti-psychotic which like many, can actually lead to psychosis.

I find it amazing, the supernatural ability that only crazed leftists seem to possess, of reading the thoughts, emotional, and motivations stars of normal people. It’s like magic.

Just when we start to think that “common sense” gun control measures are a reasonable approach to these tragedies, along comes a Dave Holmes who reminder us why the 2d Amendment was incorporated into the Bill of Rights. Without it, nutcases like sophisticated Metrosexuals like Dave, David Hogg, and Adolf Hitler would have grabbed all of the private guns eons ago and we would be powerless against a tyrannical government.
In an election year, it’s timely to remind us which party will protect this right and which party will undermine it.
