Drudge Report chief Matt Drudge criticized President Trump on Wednesday for his threat to take away credentials from news outlets.
I fear the future result of Trumps crusade on fake news will be a licensing of all reporters, said Drudge, who typically deletes his tweets shortly after posting them.
"The mop up on this issue is going to be excruciating," he added.
Drudge, who is largely supportive of the president, added that Senate Democrats had floated such an idea before Trump was president.

Matt should pull his head out of other places and realize things have changed again.
He can be part of the solution or part of the Swamp.
Drudge used to be one of my “daily regulars” as a site to visit, but not anymore, since about January of this year.
What a hack.
Drudge can go to HELL
Lil Annie Menopause tells mattie what to say.
The Hill gets more stories right than not.
As legitimate, because Drudge has it on his front page, beneath the main headline.
“But just remember its a double edge sword.”
Yes, but that’s because we allow the left to pose as a “responsible opposing position,” instead of driving them completely out of public life.
Really? You believe a government license would mean reporters would lose their freedom of speech?
I don’t see it that way.

Can the White House Revoke a Reporters Credentials?

Drudge’s latest squeeze is a moonbat.
“WHY dont you want the licensing of reporters?”
Because if the forces of evil seize power again, truth will disappear entirely from the public square.
Ever heard of samizdat?
No, I’ve never heard of samizdat.
And hasn’t truth (journalistic honesty and integrity) already disappeared from the public square?
We have to be licensed to enjoy our 2A right, but not our 1st?
WHY dont you want the licensing of reporters? Im probably missing something, so please bear with me.
...............................................
I fear how the left would wield that power. Although maybe some sort of certification may work.
I think Matt has AIDS dementia now.
Trump just pushing the media’s buttons... it’s fun to watch them jump.
Screw Drudge. Ever since Trump opposed transgender bathrooms, the little fairy has been on Trump’s case.
Now I go to Liberty Daily - pro-Trump and Pansy free.
Journalists need to be held accountable. But because the majority have gone to the liberal dark side with their lies and fake news - it is high time to reign these creeps in.
You make the point beautifully....license them! Using the First Amendment comes with using Responsibility and integrity. Or you can remove all TV cameras from the Press Room.....
Look everyone that is a reporter does not White House Credentials. Where is it stated that only certain news outlets get to cover the WH?
The thing to do to this pampered group is to pull all the credentials and throw them all of of the WH. Then the Press Secretary call in who they want when they need to hold a briefing and they don’t need to hold one everyday.
I did a lot of googling on this subject in the last hour or so. I’ve really educated myself on the pros and cons of licensing reporters.
And I’ve come to a firm conclusion that....
....I’m still on the fence about it.
More than a few smart people on the web have argued that if a licensed journalist is caught in a lie or distorts the truth to further a lie, then why not yank their license and deny them a job?
That individual will still have the Constitutional Right to publish their own paper, get a you-tube video, post a blog, or any other number of ways and means to exercise their freedom of speech.
As I said upthread - We require a license to enjoy our Second Amendment right, but not our First?
I erased Drudge from my favorites page earlier today. Used to visit a lot but I believe he is now more an enemy than a friend and I don’t want to support him.
Not everyone gets credentials.
