4. That’s by 2004 standards, by the way—as Ben-Mathis Lilly pointed out at Slate, Forbes and UPI had already called the place a “cult” and a “pyramid scheme.” Rutnik has no claim to ignorance.

5. He worked with them for a few months in his capacity as a lobbyist for four months, taking in $100,000. Hiring prominent lobbyists was part of the company’s MO, and their roster once included Roger Stone. Per an anonymous source in the NYPost, Rutnik was sued when he left, and had to pay the money back in full and sign a confidentiality agreement.

Yeah. To summarize the article, the sex cult group is admittedly bad, but the really bad people are those evil Republicans who think that a democrat politician whose father was knee deep in supporting the sex cult group as a lobbyist knew what her father was working for. Because apparently it is unheard of fathers to discuss their work with their daughters. And the fact that he left the job and gave back the money is not a reason to tell his daughter why he did such a thing.

A child should not be held accountable for a parent’s crime or involvement in shady dealings. Although Gillibrand’s father worked for the sex cult, she is not responsible or guilty of that alignment. Since her father terminated his association with the group and returned the money he was paid, he presumably was very uncomfortable with the group and realized what was involved. However, I think it would be very unusual for him, if he had any relationship with his daughter not to share some inside information with her, if only to warn her to stay clear of the organization so that it didn’t negatively impact her political aspirations. My point is that she most probably knew about the sex cult and kept quiet about it. Just like all the men and women, Democrats who knew about Weinstein. Just like all the people who knew about Schneiderman. Liberal Democrats again. Champions of womens’ rights, supposedly. People who prided themselves on their leftist feminist views. Who thought it was best to keep silent about the actual abuse of women as long as Weinstein and Schneiderman marched in their women’s rallies and made large donations to Planned Parenthood. So yes, the article’s purpose is to throw a protective cloak over Gillibrand, but it refuses to even ask what she knew about the abusive sex cult that her father worked for. It lets her off the hook prematurely.

It’s not just about looks. Senator Cutie-Pie is shallow and, while attractive, has no gravitas. I have detested Hillary since time immemorial, but I can easily see how those on the other side would think she has Presidential bearing — if not in 2016, then back in 2008 when she wasn’t fat or old.

Also, remember that the media was already calling Hillary the “smartest woman in America” when she ran for the Senate in 2000, while Bill was still in office. There is no similar groundswell for a Senator Cutie-pie. How many white, male Democratic Union members would vote for a shallow milf instead of Trump?
