Given that the prosecutor who brought the case is white, I am unable to agree that there is a cause-and-effect relationship between Cosby having spoken out about family pathologies in the black community and his being prosecuted for personal behavior that many, many women accused him of, but few had any standing due to the statue of limitations having run out. No one has ever accused Cosby of being a bad or abandoning father; he clearly loved his children.
Most of his victims are in the age group of women who were old enough to be sexually harassed before there were any clear legal recourses, before sexual harassment, date rape or coercion were even codified as crimes; it was also an era when women with legitimate claims of rape were treated horribly by the "justice" system. Especially in the more free-form world of entertainment and media, accusers could be blackballed, as we saw in the Weinstein situation, where Weinstein used his wealth and influence to do to his victims what Hillary did to Bill's victims to silence them—bad publicity, fake news, threats, "you'll never work in this town again," etc.
Changes of attitudes and laws only barely got started in the late 70s, when Cosby was already well into his 30s and a big wealthy star. Many women of that era who were taken advantage of and treated very badly by bosses, colleagues, pastors, therapists or co-workers simply tried to suppress it and move on, but paid a terrible price in lost wages and in PTSD-like reactions for years to come. When someone with standing at last took Cosby on in recent years, those older victims finally felt that at least they could now speak out.

I don’t doubt that, but I think I’ve detected a trend in recent years where parole boards are cutting older defendants loose — even when the imprisoned guy doesn’t make much of an effort to get out — just to get them off their financial books.
How many others were even worse than Cosby?
While I accept the fact that Cosby is guilty and deserves whatever punishment is coming to him, my question is, why just him?

Nowadays, it matters not that it was even true!! The mere accusation will destroy you! SoL or not. The rats did that to Judge Moore. They are trying it on Trump. They will use it on anyone they abhor.
It reminds me of the trials in the 90s when Mike Tyson and William Kennedy Smith were both on trial for rape at the same time. Tyson got convicted and Smith, Teddy's nephew, got off. It really ticked me off. I genuinely felt the verdicts should have been just the opposite, given the aspects of the cases as publicized.
