NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) The Latest on Bill Cosbys sexual assault retrial (all times local):
1:25 p.m.
The jury is heading back to the courtroom and Bill Cosbys defense team is saying theres a verdict in his sexual assault retrial.
The panel of seven men and five women have been deliberating about 14 hours.
The 80-year-old comedian is accused of drugging and violating a woman at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004.
Hes charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault. A conviction could put him in prison for up to 10 years on each count.

I was on the juries of two separate month long civil trials. In both cases deliberation was actually pretty short and in both cases we found for the defendant.

The fact the jury was hung up on such a basic issue as “consent” after a trial that long is not a good sign for the prosecution. But you never know what a jury is going to hang its hat on in making a decision.

I have to say that if I was on that jury, I’d vote for innocent even if I believed he did it. The exception would be if there are violent particulars.
When this much time goes by, I see it as a pure money grab. I’m really against that. Jury nullification can be a very good thing.
