April 21, 2018
I remember the devotion of your youth, how as a bride you loved me and followed me through the wilderness.
Jeremiah 2:2
As I flipped through a box of my old wedding photographs, my fingers stopped at a picture of my husband and me, newly christened Mr. and Mrs. My dedication to him was obvious in my expression. I would go anywhere with him.
Nearly four decades later, our marriage is tightly threaded with love and a commitment that has carried us through both hard and good times. Year after year, Ive recommitted my dedication to go anywhere with him.
In Jeremiah 2:2, God yearns for His beloved but wayward Israel, I remember the devotion of your youth, how as a bride you loved me and followed me. The Hebrew word for devotion conveys the highest loyalty and commitment possible. At first, Israel expressed this unwavering devotion to God, but gradually she turned away.
Despite the undeniably powerful feelings in the early stages of commitment, complacency can dull the sharp edge of love and a lack of zeal can lead to unfaithfulness. We know the importance of fighting against such a lag in our marriages. What about the fervor of our love relationship with God? Are we as devoted to Him now as we were when we first came to faith?
God faithfully allows His people to return (3:1415). Today we can renew our vows to follow Himanywhere.
Dear God, help me to keep the promises Ive made to You. I will follow You anywhere.
You dont need to know where youre going if you know God is leading.
Jeremiah is sometimes known as the weeping prophet. Hes saddened by the messages God has asked him to take to the people of Israel. In essence, the Lord is asking the people of Jerusalem, Why dont you love me like you once did?
Sometimes familiarity can create complacency. What can we do to keep our flame of passion for the Lord burning bright?

Hey radu!
Great day here. I went out after work and spent a bunch of money on 'stuff'. Amazing how much 'stuff' costs, LOL.
Glad to hear your weather is improving, we were sunny and 70ish.
I'm heading over to Robin's tomorrow to replace a leaky toilet's wax ring, never been a good plumber, we'll see how it goes.
Wassup with you this weekend?

LOL! ‘Stuff’ can empty your bank account if you aren’t careful. It’s real sneaky about it too. It doesn’t let you realize how much you’ve spent until it’s too late. 8-0
Nary a cloud in our skies and 75 degrees made for a gorgeous day. Made for a nice drive back to the vet with Sasha this afternoon. She’d stopped eating and was vomiting. Apparently she isn’t able to take sulfa drugs so she’s on a new med now.
Tomorrow is back up to Monteagle to clean up more uniforms. Sunday will be a veg-out day and since it’ll be raining, that’ll be a good day for it.
Good luck with the plumbing job tomorrow. Sounds like soooooo much fun.
Not!

Good evening, radu...hope you are finally getting some warmth.
Have a wonderful time at the museum tomorrow
We got a little rain overnight, and maybe some more tonight, but it’s in the LOW 40s and my arthritic knees are working up to striking, screaming loudly. Shorts and a t-shirt aren’t cutting it right now.
