Divorce is hard, but its easier than cutting the brake lines on your wifes car. It is long past time for an amicable divorce of the United States of America. There is simply no common ground with the Left anymore. We are now the couple screaming at each other all night, every night as the kids hide in their room.
We cannot come together, but we do not have to live like this. The history of the world is nations breaking up and redrawing their borders. If we want to avoid this political divide turning into a deadly one, we should do likewise.

I agree. But being a man, I know the heart of man. Nobody has the courage to do it with a peace conference. It will be war. It’s always war.

I dont want to impose anything on anybody. I have no desire to kill or oppress Leftists. I just want to be rid of them.
If we do not rid ourselves of them they will never let us live in peace. They will always try to use the power of government to impose their worldview on us be it hundreds of different genders or carbon taxes or trying to take away our guns.

Nope. Here's why your idea won't work worth a darn: I am not giving all of my home to the commies, and I'm guessing you don't understand the whole of what is out west, or you wouldn't be ready to give it up so quickly. And I guarantee I'm not alone in my way of thinking.

I've often thought that it will come to something like that. Many of us, like yours truly, have stayed in blue states because of family obligations, work, familiarity.
But if we did something like this, I'd cut work and familiarity loose and drag my remaining family with me. I would take my chances finding a new job and a new life.
I also think ten years is too long. Brexit is imperiled by the length of time baked into its execution (in my opinion). There will always be those seeking to prevent the hosts from escaping the parasites.

...the Federal Government[s] job was to protect the borders within which all the separate states exist, protect the states from each other, ensure no state passes any law that violates the constitutionally protected rights of the individual .... That's what the left CLAIMS it's doing now. Of course, when you have a "Constitution" made of putty, you can make it say what you want, thanks to leftist judges.

Too many people here have watched too many civil war movies and think it is going to be quick, easy, and reletively painless to them because the other side is supposedly all filled with AIDS-infected gay dudes and hipsters that could never figure out how to fire a gun themselves.
Our civil war was a anomaly in the history of those conflicts. Those things typically go on for decades and won’t have a clean line of what side is where.

There is no simple way to engineer a split based on regional geography as the liberal/conservative populations are not that neatly packaged.
Liberals are everywhere but the majority are in the cities, even in the southern states.
As one example, in general the rural areas and many small towns in upstate New York state are far more conservative than Atlanta, New Orleans or even Miami.

I suggest all of you read Kurt Schlichter’s book “Peoples Republic”. Seems prescient about how it could all happen.
He does bring in the point of them sending in infiltrators to damage the country formed by the free states. Liberals by their nature are malicious and hateful.
