At least Stevens is honest.

He is not a politician and appears to have learned not much about politics in 40 years in DC

I curse the day Gerald Ford introduced this ass hat to the court.

Yes. If all Republican appointments to the Supreme Court had been originalists and textualists like Clarence Thomas, we would not be struggling to retain our Republic today.

But most Republican leaders have been Progressives for the last 60 years.

Nixon was a Progressive who hated guns.

What’s ironic about all this is the 2nd amendment is there to give the people means to protect themselves against a dictatorial government. You’d think the Dems would be rabid to arm themselves against the current administration which they consider to be so dangerous.

John Kass is one of a handful of sane writers for the Chicago Tribune.

“Stevens wrote that he was moved by the demonstrations in Washington and other major cities,..”

Probably the first movement the ancient prick has had in weeks.

I would too, except it was Richard Nixon who introduced him to the court.

My apologies!

It was Gerald Ford who nominated him for the supreme court.

Nixon put him on the 7th district court of appeals.

How that recreational drug control idea working?

I’m sure lots of Parkland students know.

I fully support Amendment XVI repeal.

I noticed that gun-grabber lefties were protesting like “Stevens [saying we should get rid of the 2nd] just makes our job harder” when the remarks showed up.

So Twitter helped its progressive members by removing the hashtag #BillOfRights used by so many during the conservative blowback.

Feinstein said on CBS-TV's 60 Minutes (February 5, 1995):

"If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them . . . Mr. and Mrs. America, turn 'em all in, I would have done it. I could not do that. The votes weren't here."

I think the film clip might be floating around on tbe internet...

After obvious errors pointed out in the supposed press Op photo, it subsequently disappeared.

But lives on as the basis for many a hilarious photoshop joke.

You make a great point that almost no one recognizes. Nixon was essentially a liberal. I saw a commentator make that point on TV once and you should have seen the liberal heads explode.

Nixon hated guns, was an interventionist foreign policy wonk, and created the EPA.

He was no friend of the Constitution.

‘They come from God. They are Natural Rights.’

all the slaves and subjugated peoples that have littered mankind’s history might wish to debate that point...
