A university professor studying large-scale, Trump-era protests in Washington says the media is giving the wrong impression about who made up the crowd during last weekends anti-gun March for Our Lives demonstration.
My research tells a different story about who participated in the March for Our Lives and it is more complicated and less well-packaged for prime time, University of Maryland sociology professor Dana R. Fisher wrote in a Wednesday story for the Washington Post.
Fishers study indicates that -- while news coverage focused on the teenagers marching for gun control in the wake of last months shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida --- 90 percent of the crowd was actually adults. She said the average age of adults in the crowd was just under 49.

Actually pointing that out doesn't hurt the libs/Dems at all, it fits into their narrative that these brats are leading adults with a moral purity that other lib adults couldn't.
My question is where are YOU in this. When have you taken the time to sit down with an oldster and talk it over, not just flash something their way on a Facebook that has an ever changing face. You’re trying to lay the guilt trip on me. That’s what “LIBERALS!!!” do.
Well, the moral purity of conservatives ever so properly keeping to themselves is apparently showing.
I have personally sat down and chatted for hours with liberals. And I have found that their concerns are not all that absurd, viewed in a vacuum. What they need is something that the left once boasted about, namely consciousness expansion. And it doesn’t happen in one fell swoop, boom.
Concerns about gun ownership?
Well, they have a hard time thinking of themselves as shooters. They wouldn’t want to harm a fly. The point they should understand through hearing stories about it, is that having a gun as an honest person cuts down the risk that anybody is going to shoot anybody.
Should be eye opening for the students. Learning they were manipulated by the anti-gun lobby. Now to reinforce the learning experience.
So it was basically the Women’s March Part 3.
That may take some perspective, if ever they even get a stable enough point of view to even gain perspective.
No...it was Jerks’ March who hate the Constitution.
No...it was Jerks’ March who hate the Constitution.
I keep hearing libs including the Hogg brats talk about the AR-15 calling it a military type weapon and assault weapon saying there is NO legitimate use for them.
In person I respond with the example of the 2011 Baltimore Freddie Gray riots and the mayor Blake ordered the police to not interfere and said on radio she was giving the protestors ‘room to destroy’ and you remember the stores were looted and burned.
And reports that gang members stood in front of some stores pointing rioters to Asian owned stores.
Perfect example of the need for AR-15s.
They definitely were. Someone posted a craigslist ad showing that they were looking for paid protesters.
As to your childish "liberal" accusation, I am not "trying to lay a guilt trip" on you, I'm straightforwardly calling you out for questioning my commitment to the cause of gun rights. Again I will tell you, the only reason I "flashed something" your way today is that you asked for it.
Have a nice day.
And want to have another anti-Trump tantrum.
Yep, I live in Maryland and realized that Baltimore city elects complete nuts to run it, into the ground.
Always begging the state for more $$$
Maybe more Communists and Socialists than Students?
Mentally, they’re all children.
