Former Vice President Joe Biden accepted an award for his friend Sen. John McCain, USNA Class of 1958.

John McCain is a fellow serviceman, I commend him for that. But a hero, I dont think so.
Well, I dont think hes a hero because he was shit down and he has stated that many times. He was a victim of what combat pilots refer to as the magic BB. However, I do think he deserves accolades for how he handled himself as POW, especially for refusing an offer to be released early because of his father and grandfather being Admirals.
John McCain is likely dodging subpoenae.
John McShame is a disgrace and a traitor and deserves to die an ugly death. No sympathy here.
You got the last half wrong - he collaborated with the enemy and received special treatment. The limp he carried out of their was his own fault when he bailed out of his airplane. The enemy treated him very well and kept him away from the others - some of whom including the senior Colonel - called him a traitor and wrote him up. McShame had his service record sealed as a result and because of his family connections people kept quiet. Now what “hero” has his record sealed?
Best friend the Dems have.
He really needs to retire. It is a bold act of narcissism that keeps him in office.
Benedict Arnold was an American hero who turned traitor.
John McCain was an American hero who turned traitor.
That’s gauche...even by *my* standards!!!
And, when Biden mentioned McNuts' name, the midshipmen groaned! McNuts is a disgrace to the Naval Academy!
John McDork is a disgusting, two-faced, low IQ bottom of his class asswipe that would have been peeling potatoes had it not been for his high ranking father.
He is pond scum, slime mold, smegma, toe cheese, and Dorkbama - all rolled up into one lying ugly fat little turd.
And that’s on his best days.
I was stationed at MacDill AFB in 1973 when the POWs returned to US. Heard the exact same things you stated from several pilots and one fellow POW. They hated him for collaborating.
I can’t call him a hero nor a traitor. While I don’t like his history as a Senator, I wasn’t in Vietnam with McCain and won’t pretend to be anywhere close to forming an opinion of experience from that mess. True, his comrades have called him a traitor and it very well may be true, but I am not taking their opinion blindly either. I will say that those that served there, especially those that served alongside McCain, really are the only souls that have a true right to those opinions. But that’s just my opinion!
“John McCain is a fellow serviceman, I commend him for that.”
All fellow servicemen are my brothers and sisters....unless and until they frag me.
What are the odds that when he dies, Sen. McCain is laid to rest in the DC Capital Rotunda?
Who decides stuff like that anyway?
McCain was a screwup. If he hadn’t been the son of an Admiral, he would have been booted from the Navy in 1967.
McCain was personally responsible for the fire on USS Forestal, the deadliest fire in the history of the US Navy. Leaving 27 dead and over 100 wounded caused by the accidental firing of a rocket while on the flight deck.
McCain’s antics required repairs to the ship costing approximately $72 million and took approximately two years to complete.
“John is an American hero who has lifted all of us up, Biden said.”
He didn’t say that John stiffed the country on Obamacare repeal. His last act of douchebaggery I opine.
He was a "victim" of disobeying orders and flying too low.
“Stand up Chuck!”
Just plain upchuck.
