Two Miramar Police Department SWAT team members, Det. Jeffery Gilbert and Det. Carl Schlosser, were off duty and training at Coral Springs when they learned of the shooting at nearby Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last month, where 17 people were killed.
Instead of treating the two men as heroes, the SWAT's unit commander informed the two men that they had been temporarily suspended from their duties. They were unwanted, you see.
“Effective immediately you have been suspended from the SWAT Team until further notice,” wrote Capt. Kevin Nosowicz, the unit’s commander, in a Feb. 22 memo obtained by the Miami Herald through a public records request. “Please make arrangements with the training department to turn in your SWAT-issued rifle.” (Miami Herald)
Pat Franklin, a retired Miami Beach police detective, offered further explanation for the disciplinary action.
"You don’t want to let those guys loose into something that’s chaotic where they might take inappropriate action," he noted. "It is prudent to have them stand down unless there is a plan.”

this is the kind of thinking that makes police almost worse then useless in an active shooter situation. Have them sit around outside planning while the kids are being butchered.
The will be considered cowards in my book if they don’t go public. Just like the 30-40 Benghazi ‘witnesses’.
IOW, wait until we tell you to do something—we have to have a higher body count.

What they are attempting to do is minimize legal costs after the fact by structuring their passive timidity into policy and procedure for a court room.

No, we can’t have SWAT rushing to stop a Democrat-enabled (Democrat-coordinated?) mass murder. We have to have these so the Democrats will have a political basis for gun bans.

They NEED a higher body count, in order to be able to pass more gun bans through more legislatures, to reach the Demonrat/Prog endpoint of gun confiscation.

Couldn’t have members of a SWAT team interrupting a perfectly good crisis to exploit, now could we?
This kid was a ticking time bomb waiting to go off, was on the radar of multiple LE agencies, this could have been averted, and nothing was done about it, possibly in a deliberate manner.
It’s a very cynical view, believe me, but not something that I wouldn’t put past socialist-democrats, especially with a “sheriff” who has ties to the DNC, along with pics of him and PIAPS together.
Is Flori-duh is having another hanging chad moment; this time in their police departments?
WTH is going on here when on-scene police are told to stand down by an incompetent inept supervisor when nearby off-duty cops in training rush in to help then get suspended? Has the police world in Flori-duh gone completely mad?
All this madness creates more questions without answering the elephant in the room big questions. This kind of thinking is why more people need to be armed; not less. Even when the police are minutes or even seconds away; don’t expect help anytime soon.
We must protect ourselves and not expect help that may never come; certainly not in time.

If police do not protect the public they may be disciplined. But the victim is still dead.
The police cowards will be rewarded later on.
The dead victims could have defended themselves. Gun Control Kills while you wait for cops.
