TALLAHASSEE The Florida House on Wednesday gave final approval to a bill that restricts gun sales and sets up a program to arm some teachers and other school employees. The bill is a response to the Feb. 14 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 students and faculty dead. The final vote was 67-50. It came after an all-day debate on the measure. Democrats favored the gun control provisions in the bill a ban on bump stocks, an increase in the minimum age to buy a rifle from 18 to 21 and a three-day waiting period for all gun sales but object to the guardian program that would arm some teachers and other school staff.

Parkland wouldn’t have happened if they had just ENFORCED the existing laws. What’s the point of passing more laws that probably won’t be enforced. Obama is a BIG part of what happened in Florida, with his stupid ‘Promise’ program.
I agree. If the powers that be feel that someone under 21 cannot legally own or purchase a firearm due to being “too young”, then they need to raise the minimum military draft/Selective Service registration age from 18 to 21 as well and exempt those who are 18-20 from registering for Selective Service, citing they are “too young” to be drafted.
Same argument can be made for a Constitutional Amendment raising the voting age back up to 21 from 18. If they are too young and immature to own/buy a firearm at ages 18-20, then they are too young and immature to be voting in our elections.
Scott pushed this gun control bill .
Its his bill .
This idiot just gave FL to the Dems in 2018.
Idiot .
He plans to run for senate .
We need to remove him .
I wrned everyone weeks ago .
They did it .
the age requirement to be a Florida state trooper is 19
so time to disarm those under 21
If you’re 18 and in Florida...
What is legal still and I highly recommend it is building your own receiver. I personally recommend the 5D Pro. Buy the jig and then when you’re done building a receiver, sell it. The initial investment is a few hundred but you’ll get most of that back on resale. You’ll have a factory quality AR15.
Use the law to beat the law.
Scott is the one pushing this crap. Nelson gets my vote. Going straight Dem for these state races and US Senate. This is utterly disgusting. This state party needs to get rocked.
Dems will win big in FL .
Scott is a Dallas Lawyer carpet bagger.
He is a idiot .
It has already passed the senate and is headed for Gov. Scott’s desk.
So your voting for the Dem gun grabber ?
He is worse .
Why would any conservative vote for left wing nut Nelson ?
...adding more guns in schools will increase the chance of an accidental shooting...
Yes. If teachers would have been armed when the murderer began shooting, someone could have been seriously injured. That’s democrat logic.
Liberalism is a contageous mental disease.
Is it going to pass the senate and is the governor going to sign it?
Its Dem dream come true .
Push by Traitor Scott and the Rep controlled house and senate .
Scott will pay big time for the betrayal .
Will they raise the voting age to 21?
The thing is that the laws were already in place with Cruz to prevent this with the multiple police reports, death threats, and reports to the FBI, yet this shooting is being used as an impetus to change laws.
Raising the age to 21? I don’t think it will make much difference. Our worst mass shootings were either people over 21 or people who stole their guns from someone else. Also, assault rifles tend to be used in a small percentage of crimes. Shotguns aren’t banned, right? The Navy Yard shooter used a sawed off shotgun.
Three day waiting period? Stupid because a mass shooter would be able to wait three days. It doesn’t seem like it would make a difference at all considering these people are sadistic and spend time planning these things.
Bump stocks? I don’t care if they ban those at all, but obviously that was not relevant in the Florida shooting.
Right now, if you are a ccw holder, there’s no 3 day wait.
SHAME ON THOSE AR 15S
FOR WHAT HAPPENED AT THE PARKSIDE SCHOOL BLAME GUNS
BOT
PREVIOUS GOVERNMENT POLICIES FAILURES THAT MUST BE HIDDEN
The inability to counter this perverted agenda created by the democratic party ( in name only) goose stepping adherents in the media and must be contested. So they make up it is guns and the NRA garbage through their swill mills
DONT MENTION THIS
A dramatic reduction in disciplinary incidents at Parkside were reported after the selection of Obamas Chicago friend as school superintendent occurred which was publicly acclaimed.and was receiving large grant from Obamas Attorney General because of those results. That many critics claimed encouraged criminal activity. Which should require Trump Administration US Attorney General beside find out why when the FBI knew that Cruz should not be able to purchase weapons did. And review these grant programs instituted by the previous Obama administration.

Close every base in Florida that allows 18 year olds to be armed. It will be over in a week.
That’s really, really stupid. You don’t vote for Communists out of spite. You either don’t vote OR vote for a third party, but you don’t ever vote for Communists.
MORE unconstitutional “laws” (that even if legal would do nothing to prevent criminal conduct)
when are we ever going to get back to America again, in this country?
One slow cut at a time.
That’s how the RATS win.
