wo top House Republicans repeated their call for a special counsel to look into alleged abuse of the FISA process, in the way a warrant was granted to spy on a former Trump adviser based on an unverified dossier with Russian sourcing.
Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, who chairs the oversight committee, and Bob Goodlatte of Virginia, who chairs the judiciary committee, said Attorney General Jeff Sessions must appoint a special counsel.
The two men said they have faith in Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz to do a thorough job in the matter, but note that he doesn't have jurisdiction over two dozen important witnesses.
Gowdy said the IG can compel testimony mostly from people who currently work in the department.

Gowdy’s most compelling statement was that there are at least 24 witnesses that can not be called by the IG because they are outside his scope of purview.
The name that stood out in 36 bold font was sid vicious. Sidney Blumenthal is a senior member of the clinton shadow government.

Federal government is so thoroughly corrupted there would be no end to finding/charging all the guilty because there are too many of them. Besides, how many of the guilty would it take to go along? Professional Republicans are as corrupted as the rest, and are not about to let anything happen that could get in their way. For them, as with the rest of Washington, Trump is a distraction that has to be taken out (in any way possible) in order to end the risk to their goals. The cesspool that is Washington D.C. has taken on a life of its own much too large for law and order to be restored. Keep your loved ones close.

Sessions, last week told the IG to begin a FISA review. That's probably what the commenter was referring to when they said that Sessions appointed Horowitz. The point is important. The IG is not able to do a full investigation on the FISA abuses! So that's another failure on Sessions part.

Obama signed off on Horowitz's bill. Obama and Horowitz were apparently on the same page.

You are right re the FISA Court Judges. My gut tells me they got a ‘wink wink’ and let the request pass. They’re complicit too until we have proof otherwise. As far as I know, we haven’t heard from them. Have added Huma Abedin and the FISA Court Judges to the list.
By EVERY account, Zero hated Horowitz and did everything he could to stifle him.

As I pointed out, Obama eventually signed into law what Horowitz asked for, The Inspector General Empowerment Act of 2016, Public Law No: 114-317.
