Senate Democrats offered their ante Thursday in the renewed gun control debate, saying any bill must expand background checks and allow court-ordered gun confiscations while demanding a vote on a semi-automatic rifle ban

Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer of New York said his Democratic caucus is prepared to provide a “very large” number of votes for those priorities.

“This is what we think should be done. This is the right thing to do” Mr. Schumer said.

You presume that they are ignorant. I don’t. I know that they are VERY well aware of what can be done to a defenseless population...and that they want to be in charge of just such a society.

To get a hint of what it would be like, just think about how our government treats us NOW - when there are somewhere between 400 million and 600 million firearms in civilian hands. What would they do (or, more to the point, what would they NOT do) if that number was reduced by 98% or more? Let’s just say that I wouldn’t want to live in such a society (if, that is, they’d even let me live...because I am NOT giving up any firearms - PERIOD).

They have no intention of trying to repeal the 2nd Amendment. They want judges who will just rule that it doesn't apply because it is "out of date".

Justice Thomas is correct. States and lower courts have enacted scores of unconstitutional laws restricting gun ownership and violating the 2nd Amendment.

The Supreme Court reacts by punting on first down, and refuses to hear the cases.

But they wouldn't dare place an "Undue Burden" on a woman who wants to murder her child in the 9th month of pregnancy.

Let me use this forum to reiterate that we do not “deem” people mentally deficient and deprive them of civil rights BEFORE DUE PROCESS!! Trump was way off base on that!! You get NOTICE, HEARING, AN ATTORNEY , A jury trial — and then we take your rights away if you meet specific statutory standards. We don’t have SHRINKS putting us on a list and if it ever gets to that , you can bet that instead of mentally ill people that think they are cats or the opposite sex, it will be Christians and conservative patriotic Americans that are put on the list to take their guns away.
