(Conservative Tribune) Political motivations often lead to bad policy in the case of the Broward County School District, political motivations led to deadly policy.
A look at the past seven years since Scott Israel became the head of the Broward County Sheriffs Office reveal his agenda for self-advancement by making the school district in his jurisdiction appear safer. His actions proved to do the exact opposite.
During his reelection campaign in 2016, Israel proudly toted his accomplishments of sharply reduc(ing) violent crime and burglary rates, as well as his innovative initiatives to keep students in school and out of jail, the Sun Sentinel reported. Those statistics were nothing more than a smokescreen.
In 2013, a year after Israel was elected to head of the department, The Broward County School Board and District Superintendent made an agreement with Broward County Law enforcement officials to essentially stop arresting students for crimes, American Thinker explained.
Aside from the school district and sheriffs office, a politically motivated third part got involved. More specifically, a political group: The NAACP.

NAACP = HATERS! I think Delta should stop flying them around!
The dude who signed as State Attorney.

Been re-elected into office since 1976, definitely beyond shelf life.
Tis true. But, according to Pam, they lied to her. That statement in itself does NOT put Ms. Bondi on a list of competent AGs. Does she not delve into all particulars before she signs something? BO’Bs finger prints found on these murders. His list is looking as long as the Clinton’s Arkanside list
It’c clear that the way to cut down black crime is not enforce the law. Presto! No black crime.

It wasn’t 17 kids killed. Three staff were killed.

If this is true that an outside entity like the NAACP crafted this policy, can they be held liable for it in civil court?

IMO, even if they CRAFTED the policy (hell, typed up the ‘agreement’), they didn’t implement....GOVT, at all levels, did.
This was a perversion of law. NAACP doesn’t have, TG, that kind of power. The sheriff, the school board, the AG, the....THEY do.
Faux sheriff of Coward county:
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

well, duh. why does it surprise any of us that all of broward county is the personal b*tch of every liberal special interest group in the country?
The Florida Attorney General was Not a signer from the docs I reviewed. But Michael Satz, the State Atty for District 20 (Broward) signed. The only state-wide signer was Family & Juv. services.
Correct, it wasn’t the FL Attorney General - that wasn’t initially clear.
It was, however, a State[’s] Attorney - someone AFAIK officially representing the state.
I expect this makes the state culpable in the final slaughter, creating an environment where serious threats were systematically downplayed and where corruption was the only coping mechanism available after legal contradictions became untenable.
This policy that they put into place is discriminatory to the rest of the Florida juvenile population outside the county of Broward.
If a Jacksonville or Tampa student brings pot & booze to school, throws a chair at his teacher, trashes a classroom, assaults a fellow student and threatens to kill another, the consequences for these actions will be expulsion, arrest and a long stay at the juvenile detention center. There’s restitution fines, as well.
The same offenses are committed by a Broward student and the student serves detentions and gets lectured. The state of Florida is paying the same for both students education collected through taxation.
Their agreement is unconstitutional and is a violation of multiple FL statutes and laws.
excellent point..........
Reply: Liz, the work that you have done to get the message out on FL school shooting and multiple other unrelated issues is simply AMAZING. (Not to be confused with Sheriff Israel’s bastardized concept of a_m_a_z_i_n_g). Sometimes it sounds as if a few of the news commentators are ‘reading your lines’ that have been written at FR. ****
An expansion of the point at post #36-
The legal ramifications could be huge. It upturns the FL juvenile justice system. Any parent outside the county whose student is breaking the law merely needs to point to Broward’s NAACP sanctuary agreement and claim they deserve equal treatment under FL law.
Which means the entire FL public education could be converted to a zoo and juvenile delinquents run amok.
Amen----we need to run with this and get it out to as many venues as possible.
I was a Fed back in the day. At the end of the year, our success was measured in arrests and convictions.
About 35 years ago, we started a progressive effort to major in Prevention. Cases we used to work, now we walked away from. Others that counted on us to do that work soured on us.It created a lot of ill will, as others found their work loads had changed.
At the end of the year, the list of accomplishments became very creative.
Arrests in a certain area were down, thus those crimes were prevented. - Not so, it just meant the bad guys got a pass.
The criminal justice system starts with the initial arrest and investigation. Without that, criminal cases are not in court. And the mindset leads to what is going on right now - Clinton, Comey, McCabe, Lynch, the whole Clinton Foundation, unmasking and FISA mess.
