It took a LOT of agents to spy on Trump at the level they spied on him...perhaps some of those agents could have better spent their time looking for potential school shooters.
The picture of him at the link shows him in front of a liquor cabinet, and holding a case of Sam Adams. He must be at Hillary’s.
Oh, that is why they stopped doing local sorting of letters that both destinations are local. I thought it was because of automated sorting equipment. Which I might add has done some really nutty things with the sort. Human judgment is still a lot better than machine logic.

I would argue that the political activities were conducted by democrat apparatchiks recruited and employed for an isolated unit secure from the Bureau proper. Such political traitors were not part of or likely even known by the mainstream of the FBI

I hear you...but we still don’t know how deep this goes. I remember a few weeks ago someone resigned who was pretty far down, at least by his title.
And, in your defense, the reason Nunes likely knows where to dig is due to honest agents contacting his staff and telling him where to look.

Good question, made me do some research. This is the system they use:

Assuming they link it by batch, they can find when it was mailed, how it was mailed, and from where it was mailed, and with a lot of precision.
In the 2013 case of Guess Richardson, my understanding is that she went to a post office and mailed the letters. So you review the tapes from the post office from that time period, and look for someone dropping something that matches what was sent, maybe 3 letters in brown envelopes, for example. Then you have a face to go with the letters. Then if she parked, you may have an outside camera to capture her vehicle, maybe even the plate, but if not the plate, once you know the car, you go to DMV and start looking at pictures of owners of the cars.
I can think of much more the USPS could do, like optical license plate scanners at post offices and near public mail boxes, but I don’t know how far they go.
But, as it is, it worked against Ms. Richardson and may have nailed this nutcase too.

What I visualize is a single floor of an office building in one of the literally thousands, out in the northern Virginia suburbs. In that nondescript but secret venue, the FBI Trump intelligence group works in freedom from prying eyes and ears.
I said Trump intel group but that is far too narrow. I know that the group gathered info on James Rosen for sure and more than likely Jeb Bush, the most likely Republican candidate and who can guess who else. (all of the candidates in the primary)
Special Agents Joe Doaks in Bristol Virginia or Supervising Special Agent Charles Doe in Omaha Nebraska had no clue the secret satellite office full of DNC apparatchiks existed.
Then there is the DOJ IG. He has been given a new assignment to look into the FISA criminality. He is said to have 450 or some reports 250 attorneys working on various stuff including the Hillary e mails. One wonders where that organization is located. When considering the number of people, one wonders why the president was concerned.
