Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg has no doubt been through more emotional trauma than most of us will face in a lifetime. But lately, his crusade has been less about justice for the dead than it’s been about self-promotion and being a glorified mouthpiece for the gun control movement. He’s spent the past several days making the rounds on the media circuit — and getting his facts colossally wrong in the process. His media admirers have thus far been pretty reluctant to set him straight. But National Review’s Charles C.W. Cooke doesn’t have that problem. Today, he called Hogg out for spouting dishonest — not to mention incoherent — talking points. With the utmost class, of course.. More Here...

Did Hogg attend funeral services for any of the victims? So far I believe he has not attended a single one.

Why would he? If one believes he was actually a student there, he just moved there recently from California, and probably didn't know anyone but the drama and TV production students.

Besides, he was already 'on the road', and didn't have time for such things.

He spouts the never supported conclusions of Leftists in the media & Academia--obviously so brainwashed he is unaware that he has no intelligent argument for the ex cathedra babble.

He is a useful foil. Compare his "argument" concerning a well armed citizenry, with George Washington's call for a well-armed citizenry:

By contrast--stark contrast--note how George Washington saw the underlying concepts:

From Chapter Two of the Conservative Debate Handbook:

A few years earlier, at the conclusion of the War, General Washington had put his thoughts on the Common Defence into a May 2, 1783 draft to Alexander Hamilton, entitled Sentiments On A Peace Establishment:

...to prove ...the Policy and expediency of resting the protection of the Country on a respectable and well established Militia, we might not only shew the propriety ...from our peculiar local situation, but we might have recourse to the Histories of Greece and Rome in their most virtuous and Patriotic ages.... we might see, with admiration, the Freedom and Independence of Switzerland supported for Centuries, in the midst of powerful and jealous neighbors, by means of a hardy and well organized Militia. ...

It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even of his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice...

The following month, June 8, 1783, Washington reported to the States, in surrendering the solemn trust of his command: The Militia of this Country must be considered as the Palladium of our security, and the first effectual resort in case of hostility...

Washington's reference to the Swiss was quite revealing. Trained, as school boys, in the safe, correct and deadly accurate use of arms, the Swiss had and have managed to maintain an armed neutrality for generations amidst their more warlike, but less war efficient neighbors. While world travelers have reported for generations that Switzerland, where every household has its own military grade weapons, has the lowest crime rate in Europe. The Swiss have also managed to preserve the diverse rights of their 22 Cantons (or States) better than any other Federation in the world.

Yet perhaps the single most important reason why Washington wanted America to adopt the Swiss system, is that it teaches the youth--in the most immediate and compelling manner--the importance of that level of personal responsibility on which all of our other institutions are based. It gives youth a sense of purpose, importance and self-worth, for which all the words expended by "Liberal" theorists, from the Creation to this day, are no substitute.

There is a reason that judges recuse themselves and victims don’t sit on juries. The reason is because when you are directly affected by a crime, your judgment is clouded. You are too emotional to be making decisions and pronouncements.

Should victims have a say? Absolutely. (victim impact statements, for example) But victims should not be driving the train.

He hid in a closet, while his classmates who were JROTC Cadets, held open doors and were killed. He’s a wuss of the highest order. He’s an accurate representation of today’s Democratic Party, with the exception of a couple of folks.

“Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg has no doubt been through more emotional trauma than most of us will face in a lifetime.”

I also disagree with this...and strongly so. Ok, so he hid in a closet and was acquainted with someone who got murdered. Welcome to the party pal. I saw him laughing numerous times since then. Backstage at events, on the set of Ellen’s TV show, etc.
How many people in this country have suffered at the loss of a child, a murder, drunk drivers, some dear one with a painful cancer, wars and that misery...etc. And he has suffered more than most of us will in a lifetime? BS..total BS.

It’s the same face I saw on some of the faculty at the memorial of the Virginia Tech massacre. Many Leftists just don’t feel empathy.

The Left is responsible for this massacre through the implementation of gun free zones, creating a way for murdered to murder safely. Now the Left is taking advantage of the carnage.

It is very far from certain that at the end of the day the Left will derive any benefit from this terrible event. Their malfeasance, involved, becomes clearer by the hour.

Here is one of the idiot arguments:

“The argument is that it is understandable why someone would not want to go into the building alone knowing they were outgunned.”

1.
The Deputy couldn’t know what type of gun he was dealing with, as he “took a defensive position” outside a door.

2.
You are not outgunned. You have poor tactics, lack courage and make excuses.

3.
At least you can retire, Alive, and comfortable....

I’ve never heard his survival story. He just seemed to appear, while the crime scene was still active no less, and began streaming his comments on YouTube. From there he was promoted to media spokesman. His family is way too politically active for his fame to be accidental IMO.

He’s a self-promoting tool, a “journalism” student interested in pushing the usual dem talking points. If he ain’t getting paid now, he’s certainly positioning himself for the future.
