I’ve been a monthly donor for years. Things are a bit tight for us right now, and I wish I could donate more, but the small amount I donate monthly is worked into the budget. Free Republic is the first place I go when I hear about breaking news, where I go for an honest assessment and for an honest opinion. I don’t get the local newspaper; I get my news here. It’s been worth every penny.

I cant do the monthly thing. Don’t have the money right now and my wife has a lock on the checking account (don’t even have my ATM card anymore). But I feel just terrible that you’re having to beg people for money and deal with all the work of posting threads and thanking people here. It were be just awful if the web site didn’t get the money to fix the outages and pay for the Internet and what not.

So I know its not much, but last year I was able to wrangle up some lose change and send that along and that got me thinkin. I could expand my search area and hit up the couches throughout the whole trailer park here - at least those where I know the owner well enough not to get in trouble (maybe half of them). make it a monthly thing. No promises, will see what I can do.
